[WTA] Help Needed Please!

Hi people,

Just bought a Pioneer SBX-N700 Sound Bar (http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/42/99/161/SBX-N700/page.html). One of the reason why I bought it is because it has digital optical output that I can hook up my PS3.

Now the salesman at Harvey Norman said that I can hook it up to my Philips 40pfl660h Smart TV bought somewhere early 2012 without problem.

Before that, here are the connections available from my tv, the soundbar and also astro byond.

Now I am challenged. Connecting to the PS3 was easy.

Plugged in to the TV HDMI (ARC) and to the Soundbar ARC Output:-
* I have to 2 HDMI port in my TV, in which one i used for astro byond and another for the soundbar, the one labeled ARC

1. No sound coming out from Soundbar when watching Astro, sound only came out via TV speakers.
2. Set TV to output sound via HDMI ARC, still not sound from Soundbar
3. Off the TV speakers, still no sound from Soundbar
4. I even hooked up the HDMI cable from astro byond to my Soundbar, nope, no sound.

I am now assuming that the ARC function is for antenna channels (RTM, TV3) and does not cater for Astro Byond.

What is my best bet now?

I was thinking of buying a digital audio cable (what type of cable is this?) to a digital audio to digital optical output (is there such converter, if yes where can i get it yah) and then digital optical cable from the converter to my Soundbar? (this is based on logic, I have to declare that I have no knowledge in audio setup)
*this setup is from astro byond receiver direct to the Soundbar, bypassing my TV.

Or maybe Analog RCA to digital optical, anything as long as I can get a sound out from it.

Or the option that I have is to return back the unit and get me something else? Any chance guys? help

I've also tested playing media files (movie) via USB external drive (port from the TV), still no sound

Hi Guys,

So, a friend just donated me an ACER Aspire AM1900 Desktop with Intel GMA X4500 integrated graphics processor with only a VGA output.

The thing is, I have an extra HDMI (Ver 1.3) TV with no VGA input/output and would like to use it as the desktop's monitor.

How do I go about doing this yah? Do I buy a converter (if yes, where can I get it or what should I be searching for) or do I upgrade to a gpu that supports HDMI output (if yes, what are the requirements that I should be looking for and affordable ones please)

Me waifu is 35 weeks pregnant.

Currently she is unwell, went to the clinic, doc said her throat ade inflamation.

Doc prescribe her antibiotic, cough syrup and tablet to suck for her throat.

She is a bit sceptical to eat the antibiotic and cough syrup.

Can she take it and how do i convince her to take it.

inb4 sudah google but not much information.
