SNIPER ELITE 3(PS4/PS3)

Sniper Elite III (also known as Sniper Elite V3 and Sniper Elite III: Afrika) is a tactical shooter video game developed by Rebellion Developments and published by 505 Games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It is a sequel of Rebellion's 2005 game Sniper Elite and Sniper Elite V2. Sniper Elite III continues the story of elite OSS sniper Karl Fairburne during World War II. The title takes players to the unforgiving yet exotic terrain of WWII’s North Africa conflict in a battle against a deadly new foe.

The gameplay in the Sniper Elite video games has catered to the dedicated snipers of gaming since 2005 when they released Sniper Elite on PS2, Xbox, Wii and Microsoft Windows. Since then, little has changed at the games core which has always been laser focused on delivering precision action that relies on the players ability to put rounds down range and never miss their target. Players will make their way through a number of hostile enemy environments, tasked with assassination, reconnaissance and sabotage.

As the player moves forward, they will often find themselves hopelessly outnumbered, facing enemy camps and patrols that leave no stone unturned when pursuing their target. Making use of period specific weaponry such as bolt action rifles outfitted with long range scopes or magazine fed weapons customised to maximise their DMR (designated marksman rifle) properties, the player will wage war from afar. And if all doesn’t go according to plan they may employ the use of mines and trip wires attached to grenades to secure an escape route or cover a bottle neck.

The player can hold their breath to help stabilise their aim to assist in making those all important long range shots against the enemy. Targeting the most vulnerable body parts and organs or scoring a particularly fine hit will sometimes reward the player with an “X-ray Cam” view of the bullet as the game slows down and the camera follows the trajectory of your lethally aimed projectile, giving the player a graphic (and clear) picture of just how much damage the bullet has wrought. Hitting targets in the leg can be used to force heroic rescuers to run into your line of fire in an attempt to save their ally, a savvy sniper will use this chance to (literally) kill birds with one stone. If the player is feeling particularly lucky and happens to have a favourable cross wind, they may even be able to detonate any explosives that the enemy is carrying with an expertly placed shot.

The campaign consists of just eight stages, but they’re a blast to creep through. Each one is enormous and has multiple objectives meant to give you a clear progression through the map, but how you reach and tackle those objectives is up to you. And when you factor in handfuls of enjoyable optional tasks, like blowing up a German motor pool or stealing top-secret plans, and the many deaths you're likely to die, finishing a single level can take as long as a couple of hours.

Sniper Elite III's multiplayer maps are huge and filled with hiding places, and they're built to emphasize distance and sneakiness. In fact, two of the standout modes are Distance King and No Cross, which respectively reward teams based on the range of their kills, and separate them with impassable barriers meant to force them to snipe. These modes are enjoyable, but they're not fundamentally different from what you'd find in any other online shooter.

Co-op, on the other hand, is much more rewarding. Not only can you tackle the entire campaign with a buddy, but you can also pair up in the waves-of-Nazis Survival mode and the engrossing Overwatch, which hands binoculars to one player and a rifle to the other, forcing you to work together as a sniper-spotter team.
