WTA Best External HDD 2.5" & 3.5"

I wanna buy an external HDD for my gf since she's wanted it. But I dunno which external HDD are good because I saw at lowyat & imbi there are tons of external HDD 2.5" or 3.5". Need help from LYN member about this.

The feature I need:
1. Big size capacity 500Gb>
2. Anti-shock or anti-vibration since gf are rough user
3. Less heat perhaps since gf always forgot to turn off

This HDD for a person who is always rough, lazy & always Alzheimer.

Budget RM4000

This upgrade for saving massive data like engineering drawing which can cost at 1Gb per drawing. Very big file... and movie & other ton of data. So I need a lot of sata slot for future adding more HDD.
Also sometimes play WoW, Resident Evil and maybe adding more game in future (curi2 play in office ).
Doing file conversion into PDF, JPEG, TIFF, DGW, DWF. Using this computer as multimedia editing (engineering drawing, rendering & raster). Transfer data (in & out). Sometimes take more than 2 hours to complete... need to cut the time line. This build also need to have long lifespan for office since I torrent files to dl and running 24/7 dl.
Any suggestion are welcome & will try to sell this old items to ppl who want.

I dunno about overclocking & what purpose of overclocking.
If overclock can benefit, i sure consider it.
(I heard overclock can void warranty by my friend. I'm scared if got overclock on mobo later dmg, company blame me.)

My current "server" is on p4:
1. Proc: Intel p4 3.06Ghz (4yr old)
2. Mobo: Asus P5PL2 (775 socket) (4yr old)
3. RAM: Kingston 667 DDR2 2Gb + 2Gb (4yr old)
4. HDD: WD PATA 500Gb + 500Gb Sata + 500Gb sata (unknown age)
5. GC : Sapphire X550 256Mb (4yr old)
6. PSU : CM Silent Pro Gold 600W Modular (1yr old)
7. Case: CM HAF X (1 yr old)
8. Cooler: Prolimatech Mega Shadow (2yr old)

There are 5 item i need to upgrade so far:

1. Proc: Intel i7 (930 or 950 i guess depend on budget)
2. Mobo: X58 (not sure which brand, suggest pls?)
3. RAM: Kingston Tri Channel 1600 (I saw at PC-zone at RM490)
4. HDD: Samsung F4 2Tb
5. GC: Asus GTX 460 (I ask Jayacom at RM700)

I think the case, psu & cooler don't need to change since I asked Darksilver & he told me that is good & enough (not worth it to upgrade). Thanks to kingkingyyk for suggestion on my PC at home.

WTA Build Computer & Casing Mod

Hi all sifu!

By the end of this month, im getting a new rig. Budget is 8k & now go down to 6k because building bro new rig.
However I really wanted to know more about building a rig from u guys & girls because I saw some post from y'all that include explanation. So I need some knowledge from u,sifu.
The purpose is for raster & rendering image as big as AO size or higher (I always fed up on this process because im using a P4 for it ), video editing, create web interface, programming (C++, Novell, JAVA & more), movie archive (big HDD but 2Tb is enuf for now) & gaming (World of Warcraft) or DoTA, Counter Strike & more games. I won't upgrade until 3 years later. I won't change the firm because nak join my cousin R3E!
This is my new setup for the rig:

1. Intel i7 930 2.8Ghz firm
2. Asus Rampage III Extreme firm
3. Corsair DOMINATOR GT DDR3 1600 CL7 3 x 2GB with fan
the price is quite high but i won't add or upgrade this RAM in the next 3 years if its value. Any recommendation is welcome like Kingston RAM with memory cooler. (Need the cooler to reducing heat & save my mobo RAM slot)

I cannot buy monitor & keyboard til December I guess because have to check the price for building another rig that specifically green color item & casing for my future fiancee which she wanted a green custom pc with green WC. she saw me checking review & find out i wanted to build a new rig & she also want. i have bought her a new camera also yesterday which cost RM749 but lucky got raya promotion. RM550 only with added 3year warranty. Olympus FE 14Megapixel & more function than other camera. whether i like it or not, she's the best rig i got for now.

The design of the pompom girl new rig will be using my p4 system & add some new stuff in it to make it look juicy green. Going to send this package to her in engagement day. Hope she like it. Hehe...
Budget is 1K only. the cheaper the better.

My current items:

1. Intel Pentium 4 3.06Ghz
2. Kingston DDR2 533/667 2Gb (I got 512Mb stick x4)
3. Asus P5PL2 LGA 775 (this mobo have to change I think because somehow I saw some lagging & jumping on movie, application, music. Not sure whether is mobo or proc. How to diagnose cause of the problem?) Maybe have to buy a new mobo. Suggest pls. (budget around RM300 or below because need to mod other things)
4. Sapphire ATi X550 Fireblade 256Mb-64bit (Not sure if wanna change this since its still good condition) or sell it and buy new GC which is green?
5. CM Hyper TX2 CPU Cooler (Need to change into CM Aquagate Max) suggest me because the Aquagate Max seems very expensive. any modder + seller can help me getting a WC with green UV.
6. Black cheap casing. (maybe buy CM 690 Nvidia & mod it steel color into black scheme)
(Need modder to give me advice also on this process. What spray & sand paper should I buy & how to make it to look very solid like black interior) or better get cheap casing like CM 430 Elite and change the lighting?
7. HDD Maxtor SATA 80Gb + WD IDE 500Gb
8. Keyboard & mouse guna cheap punya sudey.
9. LCD Monitor Acer 17"
