K-One GPS Navigator

When I was about to buy GPS navigator, I couldn't find any product review about K-One GPS navigator. However, judging from the fact that K-One has service center in Malaysia(in case the device breaks down, it is easier to send for repair), and it is a listed company in Malaysia, I bought a K-One N870. The evening when I got the device and played with it, I started to feel regret.

1. User manual - User manual is extremely brief. They are just 4-5 pieces of A5 size paper, explaining the functions of the 3 buttons(on/off button, menu button, shortcut menu button), and that is it. The routing features of the device are never mentioned a single. I have to play and explore on my own.

2. GPS receiver - There was once when I turned on the device at Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, it took 20 mins to capture the satelite. And, when I traveled around Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Raja Laut area, the signal went on and off, when I came to crucial junction, the signal went off, end up I went to nowhere. Not accurate position, for example, when I'm at the speed of 40 km/h turning to a junction, during first 50 meter the arrow still showing I'm going straight, after that only the arrow capture my direction.

3. Map - I was using Malsing map, I'm not sure if it is due to the software, or map, or the device itself, the direction where I'm heading always goes haywire. For example, I'm heading to west, the arrow shows that I'm heading to east. When I stop at traffic light and face north, the arrow points south. I have to judge on my own.

4. FM Modulator - The FM modulator is worse than the FM modulator I bought in RM28. The clearest I ever tuned was still interfered by audible noise though it is a no-channel frequency.

5. Bluetooth - The device is placed at the windscreen above the air-cond output, when bluetooth is connected to handphone, I have to shout so that the person on the other side of the phone can hear it. Let me describe the level of shouting, it can be heared in 50 meter distance.

6. Online map update procedure - They were all not accurate, I couldn't update the map by following the steps, even until now.

7. There is no tracking features. I was told by the sales person that I can track my route if I went into jungle, however, I couldn't find that features after exploring all possible functions.
