hi guys

Got a new 50" LED and need to protect the screen because a few weeks back my 3 year+ old nephew was seen scratching all over it - but luckily it was just a minor scratch.

Placing the tv higger is not an option due to some placement limitations.

So i feel like i need to protect the screen with some sort of protection before he does nastier things .

Another tried mon of those TV SP before and where can I get them?

Have asked around but it's kinda hard to find a reasonably priced one for 50".

Any advice appreciated.

no BB logo when using digi bis (rm68)

just curious

my 8900 is registered under digi bis rm68 unlimited for a few weeks now...i can fb, twitter, surf, bbm etc...

but i just noticed that there's never been a BB signal logo wherever i use it...this was mentioned to me by a digi salesperson at some kiosk when he helped me to do settings for youtube

so do you think i'm correctly connected to digi bis line already? or i'm now using it thru digi's other internet plan which might be costly?

is the BB logo the only indicator that i'm connected to BB bis line?

any quick answers appreciated...

i just got a Modeo Full HD media player...it seems like it can play everything...

tested it with portable HDD and stuff...it's quite ok although the pic quality needs a bit of adjustment from my optoma hd65...

i've also linked it to my wired home LAN...the problem is that i can't read any of the sharing contents from the pcs in the network...so it's like the device's LAN support is kinda meaningless now...it states that it does wifi too but i really dunno how to activate that yet...

any tips? i dont think i got any manuals with it...and the explanation from the box is kinda confusing (well, this is china made)...

so if anyone has some good info on this...do help. Got this from All IT lowyat...might drop in there to ask about this for now a bit too busy...the website doesn't really help for now...it's not been updated with this model since it's quite a new model...

and if anyone has info about what chipset this has...it'd be great too

If your Samsung LCD gone kaput after warranty

Just wanna share. Actually I've posted this predicament of mine in other thread but I guess better to have this topic on its own for the benefit of all those (poor) samsung lcd tv owners (if any) out there for a quick fix guide if your warranty has expired.

My samsung 40" lcd suddenly can't seem to start...got lights in front of the panel...but no picture. And sadly warranty maybe had expired...it started about a month ago...firstly there was picture, but after a while the problem worsens ...now no picture at all

Googled and found out that this is a common problem worldwide...and the main culprit is that some capacitors in the paenl could easily go bad after a certain period of usage....

Still, there's a quick fix to repair this - by just replacing those darn bad capacitors...seems easy if you're handy with the soldering iron...and fortunately a nice mat salleh soul had posted a youtube video on how to do the cheap repair - click links below.

I havent done this repair yet...still thinking about it...but to any of you with the problem and have lotsa confidence doing it, hope the videos can guide you. The fix look kinda easy actually...but make sure you don't mess up the panel. Or if you have an electrician friend, have them do this for you.

I guess 'll have to start practicing soldering first on cheap pcb boards before trying...or maybe just a get a reliable friend who knows solder more to do it.

It's quiet an educational video though...and after further google, I found out that bad capacitors are normally one of the common killer to most electronic equipment, including motherboards....

ps: hope the manufacturers could use better caps next time!
