Detainees consume RM35 a day

NIBONG TEBAL: The Home Ministry is working out ways to reduce the number of foreign detainees in prisons, including exchanging prisoners, Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said on Monday.

He noted that 29.4% of the 39,144 prisoners nationwide were foreigners, and the RM35 spent on them daily could be better used for citizens.

"The Government's daily cost for keeping them in prison is about RM35 per person. This is a big amount," he told reporters after the Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abas opened the Seberang Perai Prison.

He added that most of the foreign detainees' offences were overstaying or not having valid work permits.

Prisoner exchange discussions with Thailand were at the final stage and this would later be expanded to Indonesia, he said. Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid said a large percentage of local convicts were in prison for drug offences.

He urged all parties concerned, including government agencies, non-government organisations and local communities, to work together for the prevention and rehabilitation of drug offenders.

"The Prison Department's KPI (Key Performance Index) for reducing the rate of recidivism is to maintain it at below 10%," he said.

As of June this year, the Department has achieved a KPI of 7.97, he said. - Bernama

It's been a while I had a relationship. Currently I attached and I love him very much. I was shocked when my bf told me that he wants to take up the AFF license (Sky diving) 2 days ago. I mean isn't that too extreme? I can't barely accept it if he falls to death.

Why guys like to do things which harm girls feeling? I try to stop his but he told me "If I love him, please let me do it" I was like WTF

On A2.3 of Registration of Voters on London MHC site, it says, first time voters not entitled to postal votes although they are already registered voters.

I want to ask all the canon sifu here.....you see I shooting most of my photos with my canaon 60d. The problem is the photos were fantastic showing at the camera lcd screen but when i transfer it to my pc the colours look so weird...not the same what i saw at the lcd...why is this occur? please help.

Good evening girls...

I'm not sure if you girls encounter flasher before. I was at Angkasa Raya Building yesterday night about 11 ish pm waiting for my friends. However there was this insane man came to my car's side door and flash his private part and ran off....I was terrified and a bit annoying.

Hi...I'm here to share with you an experience that I went through yesterday night after my gym section at Avenue K. I finished my gym about 9pm and as I went down to the basement carpark, I heard someone is calling my name loud and clear but by the time I knew it there no others people around me expect some cars. I felt freaking cold as well when I’m walking towards my car. No I’m not sick or catch flu….Anyone experience this kinda of situation before at avenue K?

Last Friday I had a mix feeling after watching what happened to Japan on CNN news. I suppose to have Japanese buffet that night, but after watching the news I feel really down. Somehow their (the Japanese) don't deserve to die in such a horror scene but we can't escape or stop from nature disasters. What we can do is just preventing it by technology such as monitoring under radar or sending warming to the innocent citizens.

Today while I watching the news again and log in to LYN at the same I realised alot of people are making fun of the disaster. Some said the japaneses deserve to die in such horror because of what they did to the chinese during the world war 2, some posting unrelated posting such as their favourate AV star gone with the tsunami, some even want to see a nuclear explosion and some praying for the japanese which I think it should be the way.

I don't understand why some of you enjoy watching them suffering. Think again what if those nature disasters happen right in front of your face and right under your feet. Please if you got nothing better to say please don't talk. Because of your own words it make you look like an idiot.

I have this superior which always like to lean against my workstation table top edge, looking down at me and talk to me. Sometimes he would taps my shoulder and his head stay very close to my cheeks almost like want to kiss me. When I confess him why he did that he told he wants to be nice to his teamate and put our relationship closer..I was like WTF what relationship?

Can I complain/report him for sexual harrasement..??
