I have tried to play certain MKV files by inserting a USB thumbdrive to the TV model as mentioned above.

Some work, while some do not, eventhough all function well when I play through my computer. For the file that does not work, it appears on the screen to be played. But after playing it, the screen goes blank and the tv restarts.

May I know if there is a certain prerequisite for MKV files to run?

Some details on the file that works are as follows:

Codec: H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC)
Dimensions: 1280x720
Aspect ratio: 16:9

As for the file that does not work:

Codec: H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC)
Dimensions: 1280x544
Aspect ratio: 2.35:1

Would appreciate it much if anyone could shed some light on this. Thank you.

Computer Screen Freezes

Hi there, I have had this problem occurring quite significantly over the past couple of days.

My computer screen freezes, and if I were to be playing music, the sound still remains, albiet repetitively. Sometimes, the blue screen appears before self restarting, but it's just too quick for me to get any sort of information from it. Though, more often than not, I will have to hit the restart button to get my computer to reboot. When the screen freezes, I could see certain bits of the monitor colour darkens. I wouldn't really call it an artifact, but it's a different shade of colour at certain points on the screen.

This happens most often when I have my media player playing a video, and sometimes it occurs when I just randomly surfing at a point of time.

Also, I don't know whether this is related or not, but sometimes my screen just turns black (as if it's switched off) for just a second, before coming back on again. Happened like once or twice weekly.

Can anyone please point me to the right direction what's happening to my computer based on the descriptions above? Should there be more details which you guys need furnished, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you in advance!

Blurry Greenish Shade on Video Played

Hey all, I have an MKV file which I've tried playing, but as per the topic title, when I play it on my PC, there is a slight blurry greenish shade to the video. It looks as though as it is 3D enabled, which is not what I'm looking for.

I tried playing the file on my notebook. It looks perfectly sharp and fine, with the right colour texture.

I'm currently using the ffdshow and haali media splitter for both my PC and my notebook.

Anyone has any idea what is causing the problem?

Your help is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Edit: I've sorted the problem after getting help via another forum. Topic closed.

DVD Burning Problem

Hi there.

I am currently using an ASUS DRW-1814BLT dvd drive and I use Nero 7.0 to do my DVD burnings. It has been working good for the past year, but unfortunately, my last 3 DVD burnings could not complete citing fault which I'm unsure if it's because of my dvd drive, dvd disc, or burning software. I'm able to get the log of the error and please bear with me with the wall of text right below this. I do hope that someone is able to help me out so that I could get down to the problem of this as soon as possible.
Correct Way to Roll up Long Sleeves

As per topic, I remember a while back when I read regarding the proper way of rolling up long sleeves in a magazine. Unfortunately, I can't exactly recall it, and neither can I locate the magazine anymore.

Anyone here has a pictoral/word guide to rolling up long sleeves - both cuffed and buttoned?

Astro Technical Help

Hi there, I'm just wondering if anyone of you have experienced this problem before.

Every single channel I suscribed works fine except for AXN where it becomes pixelated every few seconds. This occurred since last night. Once in a while a 'no service' signal with the yellow dot appears at the top right corner of the screen. I have already called Astro's hotline, and the chap just got me to do an 'auto installation' via menu and also to check the white cable plugged into the decoder. I've done those steps and unfortunately the problem hasn't been rectified. Now, he told me that there is no other way of personally going through it and I should call a technician over.

Before doing that, I would like to know if any of you have had this problem before? If so, did you manually reconfigure it, or was a technician called upon?

Thank you in advance for any help!

I have been trying to download a few things which some of my friends have uploaded on filefront, but unfortunately it's not possible. I have asked if the link is broken or if the file hasnt been uploaded correctly, but they have been verified by others (not within Malaysia) that it works. Are we blocked from downloading anything from Filefront? I tried both using Metrofon and Streamyx but without any success. Would welcome any input regarding this. Cheers in advance.
