Income tax deduction

Hi Sifus,

Have a quick question regarding income tax deductions. I was temporarily posted overseas for 6 months in 2017, my employer provided me with an allowance, i.e home return allowance (appears on the payslip) which I used to purchase 2 flight tickets back to KL. I was wondering if those flight tickets are tax deductible?

Additionally, would I still be able to claim the 6k travel allowance which is part of note F in the income tax form.

Would appreciate advice for the below 2 scenarios;

Scenario 1: Travel allowance > Total flight cost. Travel allowance = 10k ; Total flight cost = 2k

Will i be able to claim 6k travel allowance exemption followed by 2k deduction for the flight tickets? Is there any other avenue which i can knock off the excess 2k?

Scenario 2: Travel allowance < Total flight cost. Travel allowance = 10k ; Total flight cost = 12k

For this case, can i claim the 6k travel allowance, followed by an additional 6k to cover the total expense incurred on flight tickets?

Going to US (Houston) for a month

Hey guys,

Will be going to US for a month, predominantly around the Houston area. Would anyone have any tips on;

1) Cheapest / most afforadable prepaid sim card plan? I saw H20 having a promo US 30/40 for 3GB/8GB data. Would anyone be familiar with such plans and if these are without contract? Also open to any other suggestions.

2) Car rental. I googled and found Enterprise and it is relatively cheap to rent a car, about 30USD per day all in with taxes. Just using it for 2 days to go around. Anyone tried Enteprise car rental service before and is it easy, i.e can be booked online, picked up instantly. Do they require any documents etc and also open to tips as this would be my first time renting a car in the US.

Hi, I am a Unifi Subscriber for >5 years. So far I am still using the oldest set top box and it is getting a little faulty.

Would any sifu's know if TM will replace for free or I will need to pay RM400 for the replaecment.

Additionally, is there any android box which can serve as alternative?

Hey guys, I just updated my Nokia Lumia 620 and was having problems with the touchscreen. It suddenly became unresponsive, and is utterly frustrating. It is difficult to type or even open apps.

Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue and if they have resolved it, I would appreciate some advice.

Getting back at road bullies

Hey, though I might share this to create a little awareness of what people can do if you want to act like a road bully!!!

So before you want to do something silly on the road, think twice or you go viral!!!

Was at NPE today, and it was flooded due to the unforgiving downpour. Suddenly this stupid lorry from the left try to cut out. Then I was going straight, and half my car was across, and he still wanted to come, so I honked him. Being the typical idiot, he was unsatisfied and did as below. Too bad I can't see the company's registered address. Or else, who knows what can be done. Anyway, as you can see on the left photo, he is forcing his way in again, causing me to nearly hit the divider. Good thing i slowed down enough and he sped away

So you can see how close he is forcing into people's lane, and showing his glorious middle finger. Didnt even have the guts to show it straight. Just putting it there as if he wants to dig his nose!

And help to share in support of getting back at road bullies!!!

Wireless Link Drops

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else using this substitute router for TM Unifi experiencing line drops when connecting a new device to the network.

For example, first I connect my desktop using a wireless link, and it runs fine.

However, once I turn on my laptop and connect to the internet through the router, the line for my desktop drops(as in I get temporarily disconnected, and my downloads all stop). Is anyone else facing the same problem? Or is it a software glitch or something wrong with the settings.

Hi all,

Scouting around for a printer. Not sure if I should get a laser or inkjet. Most of the materials printed will be for assignment but laser is limited to just black and white (please correct me if I am wrong)

Budget is below RM 300, and anyone can recommend a good one that prints at an acceptable quality and is relatively cheap (in terms of ink)

So I am just curious on the fuel consumption, please state if it is town driving or highway driving.

Also, if possible leave comments on the problems that you have faced with the car.

BenQ Power Adapter

My power adapter just got fried, it's model number is 2E.16190.001, for BenQ Joybook 2100. I was just wondering if i can replace it with any power adapter or I must get the original. (if original, where can i find it)

Then if possible, can anyone tell me the price of the regular power adapter and the price of the original adapter by BenQ.
