Anyone tried before using these cleaners to self clean their home Aircon? Because MCO and Covid so serious now, if can prefer to DIY first, later on only ask professional to come to service the aircon.

https://shopee.com.my/WD-40-3-In-1-Professi...FhoCuL4QAvD_BwE

Malaysia Muslims supporting Palestine

Hope to understand more on this.

Been seeing a lot of facebook posts and comments that the muslims in Malaysia are voicing their support for Palestinians in the Gaza conflict, and most of them are quite 'hardcore' support. Some even suggesting Malaysia to send their troops to help defend Palestine, and you can't say Hamas are militants/terrorist, and anyone voicing a bit of support or neutral comments are condemned. So my questions are:

Why have to be so hardcore? I know they are your muslim brothers or sisters but they are like so far away. You can donate, pray for them, etc but why even suggest Malaysia to send troops over?

If you are really so hardcore, why don't you go to Palestine to fight against Israel? Why only talk and only hoping the government will support Palestine with monetary aid or military aid?

And why is our ministers donating their salary or auctioning off their items to donate to Palestine? Are all malaysians taken care of in our country? Why don't settle own country first before trying to help others?

Again, no disrespect, just trying to understand.
shopee seller packing boxes

Do shopee sellers source their own boxes? Because selling a lot of items of different sizes could probably mean you have to stockpile a lot of different sizes of boxes to suit the customer's orders.

Or is there another way to keep supply of these boxes? like thru J&T or Poslaju.

Retirement benefits or insurance for workers

Ok, there are two things that I want to achieve. Retirement benefits for staff which will safeguard their future other than EPF or their own savings, and also some sort of medical insurance for the staff in case they are diagnosed with critical illness that requires a hefty medical fee.

The ones I can come up with for retirement is,

1. Increase employer's contribution to EPF
2. Invest PRS on behalf of staff

What else?

For the medical part, is there any insurance products that caters for a group of workers for such requirements?

Work From Home but with lesser pay

During this second wave (some call it third wave) outbreak in Malaysia, many working man and woman have been calling for the government not to reopen the industries, especially during the recent permission for all economic activities to reopen that was announced last week or the week before. So when cases continue to rise in recent days, many have been calling for the government to close down the economy sectors to curb the transmission of Covid19. So there was an announcement yesterday that management and supervisory level have to work at home, and the rest if they have to come to the office to work, they have to take the swab test.

So my co-workers have been discussing this since this morning and wanted to request management to allow all to work from home as that has been done before during early stages of this CMCO and also last MCO back in March-May. But management's response is that they have realized in first MCO and the recent CMCO, workload has been very minimal when WFH is implemented and there is a limit on the type of work that they can give as a lot of the records and documents are still in the office. Employees can only bring back essential documents that are related to their work, and there is only so much files one can bring home.

Their response is that they can allow employees to WFH but with reduced pay of 30 - 40%, which I myself think is alright as workload really is reduced when WFH and we can save on travelling time, expenses and time flexibility, but some other staff are not agreeable to it as they have commitments or simply lifestyle expenses.

So this leaves the question, are workers or employees really willing to WFH with reduced pay that comes with reduced workload, greater flexibility in time, activity as well as safe working environment especially in times of Covid19?

Effects of Coronavirus on travel

Putting aside the sad news of the emergence of corona virus, can we have a discussion/update on how this affects our travelling plans, prices, attraction crowds etc.

A few countries have already placed a ban on flights departing to and arriving from China, and some countries have visa restrictions etc on Chinese citizens. This means maybe 70-80% of chinese tourists will cancel or unable to make it to their planned travel destinations. What I'd like on this discussion are probably as follows:

Examples:

1. Airtravel:

a) Return tickets of cathay pacific from KL - London has dropped to RM2400 for 24/03 - 29/03 from RM2700 when I looked it up before CNY
b) A lot of empty seats on my flight to Hong Kong yesterday
c) No hot meals were served on my flight to Hong Kong yesterday with Malaysia Airlines.

2. Attractions:
a) No/shorter queues needed at Universal Studios Singapore when I visited yesterday
b) Ticket prices have dropped for entry to Paris Disneyland

3. Others that you can think of

thanks

Overseas bank accounts and LHDN amnesty programme

So my boss have foreign bank accounts in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia since like 30 years ago, and the accounts are still there as of now. Amount is not big, total is only equivalent to about 1million in ringgit malaysia value, but all these are legal income from the past 30 years as well as gifts from his father etc.

So now this LHDN is having tax amnesty programme and an extract of their statement as follows:

"IRB also noted that under the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) initiative by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Malaysia has started receiving financial information specifically related to offshore banking accounts beginning September 2018.

"Therefore, if taxpayers have offshore bank accounts connected to income derived or accrued from Malaysia, and are liable to tax but have yet to be declared to IRBM, taxpayers are request to contact IRBM to declare the income," it said."

My boss have no problem reporting these bank accounts to the LHDN, but he will have a hard time proving the money is derived from malaysia because it was accumulated from the past 30 years, but then on the other hand if don' report, later on if LHDN query him also difficult and that time even higher penalty. If not mistaken, for company normally LHDN only require us to keep record of past transactions up to 7 years. But not sure in cases like this.

Anyone have information regarding cases like this? Whether to report or not to report, and whether LHDN will insist on showing proof?

Products for forced savings or similar

So in the past I've signed up for an insurance savings plan that costs about rm3000 per annum. That was during my first year working so didn't know much about the products. So recently I needed some money and redeemed in full. At that point I felt quite happy with myself that at least I've saved for 6-7 years and when I needed money its there for me.

So after I settled my financial obligations, now I'm looking for a product with similar features, hopefully someone here can recommend me something good.

Currently I saved for FD every few months, and also do RSP in fundsupermart in unit trust.

Any advices are appreciated.

home wireless routers and extender

Ok so I'm planning to set up wireless network for my home. I'll try to put as much details as possible so I can get the best advices based on my environment.

My house is quite big but the phone line and location of the modem is at one corner of the house on ground floor. So what I need now is a wireless network setup that can accomodate all corners of the house for multiple devices without drilling holes or pulling cables around the house.

1. Current setup: A netgear N150 (forgotten about the model) and a wifi extender T-Link TL-WA850RE 300mbps universal wifi range extender
2. Internet: 8mbps Streamyx (might subscribe unifi soon)

Suggestions:
1. Modem and wifi extender recommendations:
- support multiple devices (minimum 8 - 10 devices connected at same time) to avoid lag
- uses range from browsing internet to youtube streaming and online gaming
- signal has to be strong due to large area and walls blocking
- budget around RM600.00 for modem and extender

Not sure if the extender needs replacing, but modem i think needs to be replaced as it is 4-5 yrs old, so there has to be better modems out there now with better signal emission and better wall penetration.

If bros not able to recommend which modems or extender to use, maybe can advice on which specs should I look for on the modem to make the best choice?

I think maybe 802.11ac is not required as the speed supported is too high, not sure when our internet speed can utilize that, correct me if I'm wrong.

and connecting ethernet cables is the best for stability and speed but that is not doable as I don't want cables running around my walls for such big area. Modem location is not movable due to the phone line.

Thanks in advance
