Dcoument Notarization Penalty

Hi all! First of all, I'm not sure where to pen this topic so I just open it here in Q&A.

Need some advice. I'm a foreigner here in Malaysia so I'm not familiar on how the law works here. We have requested that a document be notazied by a lawyer here. We don't have direct contact to the lawyer, so my wife's company just liase with a dispatcher. Now the problem is, when the dispatcher returned with our notarized document, he said that we need to pay RM 35 penalty. He said that the document should be dated within one month of notarization. Our document was dated April 28, and it was June 13 that we requested for it to be notarized so it was already past the one month limit. Just want to know if that is indeed true and that how the notarization process works here.

Thanks in advance to those who can provide some answer and information...
