Help Identify TV Cable To Purchase on Shopee

I need some help to identify this cable as I now need a longer length. The pictures of the cable are as below. This cable goes from the wall outlet to a Fibre Integrated reception system box.

Would appreciate links to some stores on Shopee where I can buy this cable in various lengths. Thanks.

Illegal To Use Car Window Blinds?

Need confirmation as I have received contradictory information on this. In The Star online today, an article confirmed that JPJ prohibits the use of car window blinds and motorists can be fined for using them.

Link here : https://www.thestar.com.my/news/true-or-not...r-window-blinds

However, a friend forwarded a Tiktok video describing that the window blinds can still be used. Although it shoes Anthony Loke in the Tiktok video, the video appears to be AI generated and not from an official government website, and the video is from Tiktok shop presumably selling car window blinds. The Tiktok video I received via Whatsapp is as below.

Link : Tiktok Video

Any comment on this?

Farm Fresh full cream milk less taste

I've been buying Farm Fresh full cream milk 2L chilled in bottles for many years. Just lately, I found that the taste from a 2L bottle I bought has changed in taste. It lacks flavour and tastes more to low fat than full cream milk.

Would like to check if anyone has experienced the same. I'm quite certain the taste has changed as the quality of the milk has been consistent throughout the years, and it's only this one bottle which somehow tastes more to low fat than full cream milk. Say on the scale full cream is 5/5 and low fat is 1/5, the full cream milk I bought is at 3.5/5.

I hope it's a bad batch which I bought earlier this week.

Ikea Canvas Artwork Disintegrated, No Warranty

Has anyone who bought Ikea canvas art found the fabric to disintegrate and tear on its own after a while? Mine disintegrated after about 5 years. I checked with Ikea's customer service and they confirmed that Ikea artwork is not covered under the 10 year warranty.

This is the condition of the artwork showing some tear.

This is the condition which showed a more serious tear and the close up shot just after 1 month.

Looks like the fabric is low quality and doesn't last long.

What Is the Official Income of T20 Group?

Is there a government official website which indicates the income for groups B40, M40 and T20? I also notice there are also T15, T10 and T5 groups which just emerged lately in the news? I'm specifically interested to know the income bracket of the T20 group.

So far, CIMB bank website which is rather reliable indicates as follows:
https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/life-go...ade-simple.html
B40: Below ~RM5,000/month
M40: ~RM5,000 – RM10,000+/month
T20: Above ~RM10,000+/month

On other websites or blogs, it's different:-

https://www.stashaway.my/r/b40-m40-t20-t15-malaysia
B40 (Bottom 40%): Households earning up to RM5,351
M40 (Middle 40%): Households earning between RM6,560 and RM11,161
T20 (Top 20%): Households earning above RM11,819

https://madeinmalaysia.com.my/malaysia-b40-...classification/
B40	- < RM4,850
M40	- RM4,850 – RM10,959
T20	- > RM10,960

https://ebantuan.my/t20-gaji-malaysia-beza-t15/
B40	RM4,360
M40	RM4,361 – RM10,970
T20	RM10,971 ke atas
T15	RM12,000+ (dikaji)

Calling Tech-Savvy Experts - Flagship Camera Phone

Right. I'm looking at the current top-of-the-crop Android flagship phones recently launched in Malaysia. The Ultra models have now gone global, previously only exclusive to China now available in our local market. Some of these models have been launched while one isn't available yet.

I was just wondering, based on early samples on the internet and Youtube and looking at the spec, which one has the best camera performance? Well I am aware it's a question that's too wide as 'best' will depend on many things. Colours will surely vary between the phones, and it's a matter of preference between a more saturated, vivid and life-like colour or a cooler, less vivid colours. Detail and sharpness will be usually quite close at this level although there may be a difference in pixel peeping.

Well, the phones which caught my interest are as follows

Oppo Find X9 Ultra
Xiaomi 17 Ultra
Vivo X300 Ultra (not launched in Malaysia yet)
Vivo X300 Pro

From early samples on a Youtube video, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra seems to produce a more saturated and vivid colour than the Vivo X300 Ultra although the latter is not launched yet.

Apart from quality of photos, price will also be a factor as well and the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is currently most expensive starting at RM6799 for the 16GB+1TB model as the 512GB model is out of stock on the Oppo official site on Shopee. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes in considerably cheaper at RM5348 for the 16GB+512GB model. The Vivo X300 Ultra is not launched yet so price is unknown.

To cut to the chase, which one will be your pick and why? I would presume that most would take great pictures with little or marginal difference in clarity and detail, and the main significant difference in photography will be in the colours. Another feature that is important to me is the zoom performance. For instance, in a large hall or shopping complex, when recording a video there is a requirement to zoom in to the subject. I can do that with my current Vivo X90 Pro and the result is quite good. I'm not sure if any of these phones will improve on the zoom quality and performance of my X90 Pro. Any thoughts if just looking at the spec sheet?

Some claimed that the Vivo X200 Pro or X300 Pro camera quality is better than any of the above phones, though I'm not sure about that.

I usually don't spend a lot on phones although all these models cost above RM5k, but one can plan for the future. My X90 Pro was bought at RM2.2k (MSRP 4.9k when firstly introduced to the market).

Apologies if the poll does not include the phone that you feel has the best camera as my interest is only in the listed models. However, you can select "Others" if you wish.

Sate Emas Kajang or Medan Satay Kajang Is Better?

For people who frequently have sate in Kajang, specifically at these 2 outlets, which has better satay? Juicy and more flavourful both the satay peanut sauce and chicken/beef satay?
Vivo X300 Ultra - Size of Sensor?

https://www.lowyat.net/2026/384935/vivo-unv...ns-at-mwc-2026/

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is now available in Malaysia after the global launch. Any idea whether Vivo X300 Ultra will also have a global launch and eventually sold in Malaysia?

A note on the primary sensor. In the article above, it was mentioned, " Moreover, the publication cited a vivo representative who said that the company cannot yet disclose the primary camera sensor, which will likely play a key role in advancing the device’s video capabilities."

However, in ChatGPT it was mentioned that the size of the primary sensor will be 1/1.12″ (Sony LYT-901 CMOS). Any thoughts if the size of the sensor in the Vivo X300 Ultra will eventually be 1/1.12"? It's still smaller than the 1" type sensor in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra though.

Any Good Cendol Other Than Sistas Kitchen in PJ

Looking for good Cendol in Klang Valley preferably closer to KL. We find the Cendol at Sistas Kitchen ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/s5TvdmCn1JLZLEFGA ) to be wonderful, rich gula melaka and aromatic santan without any weird taste. There are also groundnuts included in the cendol which provide an added crunch.

Tried few roadside stalls which sell rojak and cendol but unfortunately the cendol does not taste good although they received great reviews . It's not only too diluted without any gula melaka or santan taste (it tastes more like water actually) but there is a weird taste also with the cendol which I bought just today. I packed 2 packets back home and after trying a spoonful, all the cendol went to the dustbin.

Back to point, looking for good cendol recommendations in Klang Valley, preferably closer to KL city centre with almost similar quality as Sistas Kitchen, or better. Ideally sold in restaurants or shoplots instead of the roadside.

I just go to know about this Oppo X9 Ultra earlier this week. The primary camera is said to use Sony's newly announced LYTIA 901 sensor, a 200-megapixel unit measuring 1/1.12 inches, paired with a 23mm focal length lens. Any information if there will be a global launch with this phone with a possibility of it being sold in Malaysia?

The 1/1.12" sensor is the main selling point for me.

How To Utilise Balance in Touch n Go Card

Is there any way to utilise the balance in a Touch n Go card within a short period? I am having trouble to terminate the card and have the amount refunded to me despite having contacted the Customer service through phone. The Touch n Go Live Chat is not helping at all.

The type of Touch n Go card is 'Watsons'. The Touch n Go customer service lady mentioned that I can only use the card in Watsons to purchase items and not anywhere else. So that's it? Other than using the card to pay tolls and purchase items at Watsons, there is no other way to utilise the balance in the Touch N Go card? Regrettably the balance in the card can't be transferred to e-wallet or any other bank accounts.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra, 1" Type Sensor - Global Launch?

I've read about the Xiaomi 17 Ultra which will come with a 1-inch Type Sensor earlier this week. Apparently there will be a global launch with this set it seems. Any thoughts if it will eventually come to Malaysia by early to mid of next year if that's true?

https://www.lowyat.net/2025/376668/xiaomi-17-ultra-leica/

There are some videos on Youtube where Xiaomi Official site indicates that there will be a global launch with this phone. It would be interesting to compare the Leica 1"-Type sensor in the 17 Ultra to some of its closest competitor which would be the X300 Pro or Ultra, though there is no indication that there will be a global launch with the latter. Nevertheless, the X300 Ultra's sensor at 1/1.12" is still smaller than the 1"-Type sensor in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

I have no clear preference between Leica and Zeiss lens in the Xiaomi and Vivo phones respectively as the quality of photos or videos will ultimately be down to the implementation rather than outright type of lens used. Nevertheless, based on sample images on the internet, I have a slight preference to images produced by the Zeiss lens as they look slightly brighter and more natural while the Leica more saturated and stronger colours.

Artificial Intelligence Replacing Actors In Movies

I'm not sure if AI has been implemented in movies already, perhaps not full-scale yet and just small-scale. I'm not referring to AI-generated characters replacing human background actors in movies but more to AI generated main characters. Imagine AI-generated Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt or Keanu Reeves. Quality of actors or actresses which require skills to act, perhaps AI may soon replace these main actors in movies and when the time comes people in the entertainment industry may be out of jobs?

I'm beginning to witness some AI created videos on Youtube, fake videos, and it sometimes take some effort and skills to differentiate between genuine and fake videos. Sometimes the differences are indistinguishable. Any thoughts on the large-scale adoption of AI in movies in the near future where main characters will also be AI generated? In other words, humans are only involved in the production but not the acting.

Dealing With Elderly Parents Who Require Care

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5549405

I have read this thread earlier but didn't post any response since I usually don't participate in threads where people deal with their own problems themselves. I now noticed the thread is closed and people can't post in there anymore.

I find this subject fascinating, the care of elderly people. Obviously people don't discuss it a lot in forums as it's a sensitive subject, and it involves people who we love and care about. Basically everyone would have to deal with it sooner or later so I presume everyone would have had their fair share of difficulties or problems if that crop up. It would be good or fortunate if seniors in their 70s or 80s are in good health, able to walk and care for themselves until their twilight years. However, not everyone is lucky, and as shown here the situation is further exacerbated with financial difficulties which vary with families.

I know it's easier said than done. Despite all the difficulties, I would think that when the time comes, it is best that the parents who are facing difficulties live with their children. Even if the children are financially able and can afford to send the parents to old folks home, I don't think it's the best place to be and staying with the children is best. Only send to old folks home as the last resort when everything is not possible.

As for every sibling contributing to the costs of caring of the elderly, that is an obligation but chances are some won't be contributing due to financial difficulties as they struggle to feed their own family. However difficult it can be, I believe everyone ought to contribute even though it may be a small sum. Ultimately everyone will have their own way of doing things and relationships or ties between siblings are often severed when things like this happen.

The purpose of this poll is to seek people's preferences on the care of the elderly. Where would you send your elderly parents who require care when the time comes. You may feel your choice is ideal or the best but in reality it may not be achievable, and that's comprehensible. As a side-note, I once received a video via Whatsapp about two years ago on the situation with old folks home, a guy explaining on the real situation with these homes. I've forgotten the details but it's not very good.

How Many Hours Of Sleep For Not Getting Headaches

Just doing a survey on sleep patterns as I noticed some people have less sleeping less hours. Young people in their twenties or early to mid thirties may cope better in the sense that they do not experience any headaches or health complications even if getting less sleep or no sleep at all. If I have less than 6 hours of sleep I will usually get headaches and don't feel good throughout the day, so I'm curious how do other people cope.

As the title of the thread suggests, how many hours of sleep do you require for a night to not get any headaches.

Spam Calls- Any Danger With Access Of Bank Details

Just curious if there is anyone here receiving spam calls from unknown individuals. Sometimes the calls are local, sometimes they are from another country. Earlier today I received another spam call. After I pressed the button on my phone to receive the call, the person who made the call hung up. Below is a snapshot of the caller.

I was just wondering if there is any danger of unknown people or strangers calling, if they are able to gain access to bank details stored inside the phone. The phone rings, and when you pick up the call the person who made the call ends the call.
