Will be getting Myvi 1.5X for my daughter soon.

Currently survey for these 195 50 R 16 size to replace the factory fitted 185 55 15 .

In my list for 195 50 R 16 tires are as below :-

i. Toyo Proxes TR1 - RM220/per piece
ii. Continental UC6 - RM250/per piece
iii. Continental CPC2 - RM235/per piece
iv. Toyo Proxes CR1 - RM210/per piece
v. Good Year Assurance Triplemax 2 - RM215/per piece
vi. Toyo Proxes R50 - RM240/per piece
vii. Michelin XM2+ - RM260/per piece
viii. Yokohama BluEarth ES - RM250/ per piece
ix. Falken Ziex ZE310R Ecorun - RM260/per piece

*Notes : Most are end 2021 / early 2022 stock. Among the above, i only experience of using CR1 SUV (235 55 19) which is quite good NVH and balance wet and dry performance

Priorities are good NVH and balance wet and dry performance.

Budget will be +- of RM250/per piece

Any recommendation beside the XM2+ which is my obvious choice ?

Dunlop Formula D06

This new D06 is replacing D05....quite a new tyres, havent see the review yet through Googles...195 55 15 was offered at RM125 to RM145 per piece...
Used to have D05 and quite reasonable performance for small sedan and hatchback during wet and dry performance.

Anybody have experience using D06? Care to share the experience?

I am currently using Window 7 Enterprise...my laptop is Acer Aspire
4738G with i5 1st Generation CPU ....as we all know, coming Jan 2020 there will be no support from Microsoft and our laptop will be vulnerable to virus attack or malware....if i wanna continue using Window 7 instead of upgrading to Window 10, is it my laptop adequately protected by installing good antivirus?

When will be this scooter launched in Malaysia ? Thought of getting it to replace my Ego LC...

Specs:-
A 155cc Yamaha Blue Core liquid-cooled engine will do the duties for the NVX. This single cylinder petrol unit is capable of delivering 14.8 Bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.4 Nm at 6,000rpm.

Failure of Bar Council to uphold our federal constitution
April 9, 2017

It is unfortunate that the new Bar Council committee has, instead of holding steadfast to the federal constitution, issued a further statement to create further false perception and confusion among the public with regard to RUU355.

[Note: RUU355 is the shorthand referring to PAS’s proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.]

Reference is made to new president of the Bar Council George Varughese’s statement reported today alleging as follows:

1. The Bar president argues that it’s wrong to state a penalty limit without describing the offence. He says:

“Pindaan kepada Akta Mahkamah Syariah (Bidang Kuasa Jenayah) atau Akta 355, mencadangkan had maksimum baru hukuman tanpa menyatakan hukuman sebenar berkaitan setiap kesalahan tertentu.”

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the constitution.

For decades, the limits are set out by parliament as expressly mandated by our constitution. It is the state which stipulates the detail of the offence and its punishment. RUU355 is not and has never been a substantive law.

2. Varughese (pix above) then argues if RUU355 is passed as law, each state might have different sentences for syariah offences and this will be problematic. He says:

“Ini menimbulkan isu kesesuaian dan perkadaran dalam menjatuhkan hukuman, khasnya kerana Mahkamah Syariah ialah mahkamah negeri dan negeri berlainan boleh mengenakan hukuman berbeza bagi kesalahan sama.”

Why there are differences is because each state has its own Islamic jurisdiction. It is part of the basic federalism concept we inherited. Our various states are expressly permitted by the constitution to, individually, have ‘different’ syariah laws. This is elementary.

3. His other point of argument is that RUU355 is against the provision of equality under Article 8.

“Ia turut menimbulkan isu diskriminasi dan layanan sama rata di bawah undang-undang sebagaimana diperuntukkan di bawah Perkara 8 perlembagaan persekutuan.”

I don’t know how the Bar reads Article 8 of the constitution but there are explicit and express wordings under the article itself as well as in the constitution to allow Muslims to be governed by Islamic law.

In any case, syariah does not apply to non Muslims. This has been the practice ever since our Independence and a matter of public knowledge.

Invoking ‘equality’ is a bewildering argument to have been made by the president of the Bar Council.

4. Most inexplicably, Varughese argues also that RUU355 introduces hudud and thus is against the constitution.

He says:

“… sifat pindaan dicadangkan itu sudah menjejaskan persepsi orang ramai dan menimbulkan kebimbangan yang mereka boleh membuka jalan kepada pengenalan hudud, di mana perlembagaan persekutuan jelas tidak membayangkan dalam skim perlembagaan kita.”

Goodness! Hudud-type penalties have been applied in the country and predate even the drafting of our 1957 Malaya constitution.

See 1952 Selangor administration of Muslim law enactment which has hudud-type offences. These were carried forward into our legislation after 1957. Plus the punishment limits have been increased twice already though amendments in parliament.

5. Lastly, Varughese implies that the quantum increase in proposed syariah punishments – as suggested by Hadi in his motion – is too huge (“penambahan hukuman yang dicadangkan bagi kesalahan syariah adalah besar”.)

There is nothing in Act 355 that states it only allows an increase of a similar sentencing or circumscribed limit.

Moreover the amendments proposed by Marang MP Abdul Hadi Awang will and cannot introduce any new hudud type of offence/punishment such as theft and amputation of the limbs.

RUU355 does not alter the federal constitution in any way.

Thus the position of the Bar is appalling as it shows a deep misunderstanding of our constitution.

Strangely, the Bar fails to comment on the injunction sought by Mohamed Tawfik Ismail to prevent the federal legislature from debating RUU355. Tawfik’s lawsuit is clearly against the concept of separation of powers between the three branches – executive, legislature and judiciary – of which the court had already decided earlier.

The Bar’s omission is deafening.

The Bar Council president and his committee must be seen to be fair, not biased. And they must uphold the constitution.

Regarding RUU355, Varughese and other Bar spokesmen appear to side with a certain position while disregarding elementary provisions in our constitution.

For this, I condemn the Bar’s latest stand.

Bought my lap top last year and already pre-installed with Window 8.1 Enterprise .....however the license already expired recently as the pre-installed license only for one year.....the question is that whether should I buy Window 8.1 Enterprise and proceed for the free upgrade to Window 10 or straight away buying Window 10 ?
