2005-2008 Honda City - i-DSi or VTEC?

Hi guys, I am interested in getting a used 2nd gen Honda City facelift, around year 2005-2008. There are two engine options available - the i-DSi engine and VTEC engine.

I know the difference in fuel consumption of both engines will turn out to be small. What I want to know is the performance and maintenance. Is the slightly more powerful VTEC has more noticeable power? Are both engine have similar maintenance cost?

Hope some existing/previous owners can enlighten me, thanks

Homemade auto braking car

Hi guys, I'm currently doing on a college project which require me to make a car that can braking automatically when the sensor at the front senses an obstacle.

Since a real car require great budget, I plan to use a small-mid sized remote control car and attach a proximity sensor to it. From what I know, PLC is needed to programme the car to function the way we want (ie. the car brakes when the sensor detect an obstacle in certain distance). Since remote control cars don't have brake, I plan to make the power cut-off so that the car can decelerate as braking.

Anyone did something similar before or have the knowledge of building stuff like this? Comments and suggestions are welcome!
