Hi, can help to recommend at 27" and above monitor for use with PS4 (built-in speaker necessary) and XPS 9560 (GTX1050 GPU)?

I am not a heavy gamer, mostly RPG, never FPS so refresh rate is not as important as colour.

Does this mean I should only consider IPS?

Digital safe box

I can't find a suitable category to post in, so decided to try Serious Kopitiam.

We are planning to get digital safe box for home. It does not need fancy features but just a basic safe is good enough to store things like passport, birth certificate, other important documents. Hence, the only requirement is that it need to fit A4 size.

It does not need to be fireproof or waterproof.

Any recommendations?

Travel while pregnant

TM put a huge pillar behind my house

Hi All,

When we visited our vacant house today, we noticed that TM had put a very large pillar behind my house. We believe it is for Unifi. It is not over at the other houses but directly behind our house.

From our kitchen window at the back, we can see it. In fact, it is parallel with our 3 panel kitchen window frame.

We am worried that thieves might use it to climb atop and hop onto my extended kitchen. The flat top can also be a place for peeping tom to look into our master bedroom toilet.

How can I complain? I would be glad, if I can move it about 4 feet to the left. The position right now is terrible, smacked in the middle of our back. If it is like in-between 2 houses, that'd be better.

Do I have to bear any cost? Please help.

Hi parents,

The school holiday has arrived, may I know what activities do you have planned out for your children?

We are working so our children is at home with the maid and grandparents. Most of the day will be slacking and watching tv. Probably get them to do some writing, he's 4 by the way.

Teacher encourage sending them to school or day care. Even though not much school but more handcraft work, socializing, etc. The teacher worry they become lazy and reluctant to attend school if left unattended for a month.

My thoughts simpler - a well deserved break since they've been studying hard.

What would you do?

Weaning off diapers

Hi parents,

Anyone have any tips to share on weaning off diaper for a 4 years old?

My son is 4 years old but have not entirely wean off diapers. During the day, we put him on diaper when we are travelling far or anticipating there will be a jam in our travelling route. Grandparents are suggesting keeping either a pamper ($) or a a bottle in the car for emergency use, what are your thoughts?

For night, we put him on diaper to ensure he gets his sleep throughout the night. Should we start encouraging him to wake up for toilet mid-sleep?

Hi All,

I was recently contacted by a AIA insurance agent for a new policy - A Life SuperJunior. Actually, I have seen this in Facebook but always ignored it but then my insurance agent recommended me this plan.

Currently, I do not have any insurance plan for children as they are young. I only bought a saving plan for my elder son and nothing else. Their medical coverage is covered by my company benefits but I am tempted to do something for them as a parent as I think most important is medical card

My AIA agent tell me only pay RM250 per month to cover:
Death 150k
TPD 150k
36 CI 150k
Payment is only for 20 years but coverage up to 75 years old (assuming this is age of the insured - children). Seems like quite good cause only pay 20 years. Simple calculation is RM250 X 12 months X 20 years = RM60k.

I am not sure to start this topic in the Parenting section or the Finance section. Appreciate if any insurance agent, AIA or not can clarify. Please be matured when posting.

My son is 3.5 years old. He goes to school and enrichment classes like everyone else. He is a normal child in every way except that he can be absent minded at times.

Maybe absent minded is not the right word but my father in law recently remarked "It's like his mind is somewhere else..." He seems to lose focus sometimes and he likes to repeat himself whenever he wants something (example: his milk). He'd repeated said he want milk like ten times over. My friend said these are signs of ADHD, so we searched the Internet for it and found this: http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/child-adhd-quiz.htm

Based on our input, his score is 21 - some ADHD symptoms.

All his other behaviors is fine, we can accept that children are sometimes naughty when cranky. We are only concern about his ability to focus because we think this is very important. It shows how much time / focus a child can spend on a book or any activities they were doing, etc.

Recently, we went to see a pediatrician due to his coughs. I spoke to the doctor about this and the doctor asked if this was only observed at home? How about in school? Sometimes children choose not to listen, rather than mind is elsewhere. The doctor said this can be seen with his grades, if okay, then nothing to worry but if grades dropped, then need MRI. He mentioned a term I am unfamiliar with, something to do with the brain. I couldn't catch but didn't ask further and now regretting.

How's the focus of your children when they were 3.5 years old? How do we train him to be focus?

Surrogate mothers

I am asking on behalf of a colleague who has been married for 8 years now without children. They have tried everything including IVF. Her husband is strictly against adoption, so recently my friend is asking me if there is any surrogate mother service available in Malaysia. Of course, she is looking for a legal one.

I am not entirely clear how this is to be arranged but any contacts shared, I can forward to my colleague. Appreciate anyone who can share any information pertaining queries made.
