Advise on Working Together

I would like some advise or even stories, in general, if couples should be working together in the same company under the same business unit.

So here is the scenario breakdown,

My GF and I are soon to be fresh graduates. Both of us have applied to a company (Company A) for the same position and both of us managed to get an offer.

While I understand there are several companies out there and I have applied to other companies as well, I feel that I am very much interested to work in Company A. My GF expresses this same opinion as well.

Here is the real problem. I feel really uncomfortable if we were to work together and I cannot help but feel that issues will pop up. I have problems with ego and expectations and I don't know how well I will be able to handle them. Isn't there a saying 'Don't crap where you eat'?

While my GF is telling me not to worry too much and just accept the offer, I know it will be a long hard road in front of me. I am going through a conflict of interest here as I really want to see how things are in Company A but I don't want to feel uncomfortable working together with my GF.
