Budget Upgrade - CPU and Motherboard

Hi guys,

My current PC set up is:

Asus AM3 Motherboard
AMD Athlon II X3 435 2.9 GHz CPU
Sapphire Radeon 7850 1 GB Dual Fans Graphic Card
FSP Hexa 500W Bronze 80 Plus PSU
6 GB Corsair DDR3 1333 MHz RAM
Windows 7 64 Bit Professional

I want to upgrade my CPU and MOBO cause my CPU is bottle-necking my graphic card.

I have a budget of 850 RM and I was wondering which CPU Mobo combo I should go for.

Currently my options are:

1)
CPU: AMD FX 6300: 429 RM
Motherboard: I dont know which motherboard to buy for this CPU.. cause this CPU is very overclockable, so I want a motherboard that I can do a mild overclock on. I dont want to do a crazy overclock, even a mild one is good enough for me.

2)
CPU:
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P32 : RM 215
CPU: Intel i5 4570 : RM 620

I am really confused as to what combo is better, the i5 combo seems like less hassle since there is no overclocking involved but the MOBO is quite weak, however that is all I can afford right now. I would really like some help in deciding which one I should go for.

Graphic card upgrade

Hi guys,

I currently have a HD 5670 but it is really showing its age now. I can only play Tomb Raider at medium settings T_T. So I am thinking of upgrading to a 6870 but it seems like all retailers have no stock for that card. So can you guys suggest a card for around RM 350-380. I am on a really tight budget so I don't mind buying used graphic cards as long as it is not too old, 1-2 year max.

So can you guys recommend a card for for me that will allow me to play most games on high at 1920x1080p at around 25 fps. I can actually play games perfectly fine at that fps and I dont even notice any lag if the fps is more than 20.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PC Upgrade Question

Hi,

I want to upgrade my current PC. My power supply went kaput so I thought of replacing it however I thought if I am replacing my old power supply might as well upgrade the PC a bit. My Budget is only around 550 RM.

My Current Specs are:

AMD Athlon II x3 255 3.0 GHz

6 GB DD3 1333 MHz RAM

Sapphire HD 5670

Asus AM3+ Motherboard

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

Samsung 500GB 7200 RPM SATA HDD

Stock power supply that came with the case.

Ok now since my budget is only around 550 RM the only things that I can replace IMO is the Graphic card and the PSU. So currently I found some dealers that are selling the Sapphire HD 6870 for 400 RM. I am planning to buy that since that is a very cheap price for that card.

So now I only have RM 150 budget for a power supply. Can anyone recommend me a power supply for that budget that can handle a 6870. From what I read online the minimum psu needed to run that card is a 450W power supply with 2 6 pin PCI-E cables.

I can increase the budget to RM 170 for the power supply but that is the absolute max I can go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am building a Gaming PC for myself and I have a budget of 2.2k RM including the Monitor.

I've already researched and made a build according to my budget. I just wanted to know your opinion on this.

Unfortunately the motherboard that I want is not there in the price list of retailers. So I've just converted the price from USD to RM for my motherboard. I will try my best to find it. However you people can also suggest some other motherboard for me.

I am also getting the ATI 4850 for 299 RM, do you think I should go for that card instead of the 5670. I've heard that the ATI 4850 overheats and I really don't want that since I have not added an extra cooling solution in my build.

Please tell me what you guys think about it.
