With this component of the ROCCAT™ SDMS, another foundation stone has been laid for feature-packed, efficient gaming.

3200DPI PRO-OPTIC GAMING SENSOR

The optical gaming sensor with its resolution of up to 3200dpi delivers amazingly precise tracking on almost any surface. The ROCCAT™ Kova is especially effective when used in conjunction with the ROCCAT™ Sota Gaming Mousepad which features an integrated metal film layer that reflects light back to the optical sensor without distorting it thereby providing optimum tracking. With up to 20Gs of acceleration, faultless tracking is ensured even when rapid responses are called for.

DRIVERLESS CONFIGURATION

As part of the ROCCAT™ SDMS, the Kova has been fine-tuned for pure performance. The mouse can be configured just by pressing simple button combinations – and all without the need for drivers. For instance, the dpi resolution can be increased from 400 to 800, 1600 or even 3200dpi without needing to go through the tedious process of configuring the software – and it’s just as easy to switch between right and left handed mode. The 5(+2) mouse buttons come preset with the most important functions for all the latest games and applications.

FULL COMPATABILITY

Whether you have a Windows® or Mac® PC, the Kova is fully compatible with both systems – and even with Windows® 7 already. The motto is: plug in and let rip.

CUSTOMIZABLE LIGHTING

The ROCCAT™ Kova features a customizable lighting system which can be adjusted to suit at the press of a button. You decide which color the mouse should light up in. The discrete LEDs on the sides of the mouse will cast an atmospheric aura on your desktop, particularly when you set them to pulse slowly.

DPI-CHANGE FEEDBACK

The LEDs also indicate the dpi setting you’ve selected with the help of the dpi-change feedback system. The default resolution is 800dpi. By simultaneously pressing mouse buttons 5 and 7, the mouse will flash green twice, indicating that the dpi setting has now been changed to 1600dpi. Change the resolution again and the mouse will flash blue twice and the resolution will increase to 3200dpi.

Following that, the dpi setting can be set to its lowest setting of 400dpi which the mouse confirms by flashing red twice. Press the buttons again and the mouse will flash violet two times and return to its preset resolution of 800dpi.

Any mouse will glide over the ROCCAT™ Sota Granular Gaming Mousepad with apparent effortless ease and as if fitted with a tracking booster. The granular surface combined with the integrated metal film offers unparalleled gliding characteristics. At the same time, the Sota occupies a smaller footprint on the desktop compared to standard mousepads, without restricting the gliding area in the slightest.

GRANULAR SURFACE

The Sota was given a granular surface inspired by the geophysical characteristics of granular matter. This gives the pad unique gliding properties which make it seem as if the mouse is almost moving by itself. Accordingly, pointer positioning is improved and aiming is optimized to such an extent that every gamer will benefit. The

wrist cut-out on the lower side of the mousepad and its compact dimensions mean

the gliding area is extremely comfortable – perfect for high-sense-gamers in particular.

HARD’N’FLEXIBLE

The Sota mousepad is one of the first mousepads to combine a hard granular plastic surface with an ultra-soft, flexible base. Despite that it achieves a thickness of just 3mm. It lies completely flat on the desktop and thanks to the non-slip base remains rooted to it – it also provides an additional layer of padding for comfort. The surface itself is extremely easy to clean so anything causing friction can be removed in a flash meaning the mouse is never slowed down.

INTEGRATED METAL FOIL

Integrated between the hard and soft layers of the mousepad is a thin metal film. On the one hand this gives the mousepad a discreet metallic shimmer which sets this pad apart from the others in terms of looks as well. On the other hand, this film

improves the tracking characteristics of the Sota – the metal film reflects the light back to optical or laser sensors without distorting it in any way thereby providing outstanding tracking and amazingly precise aiming.

IS Linux still a expert OS?

While using the latest Ubuntu Feisty Fawn version in my Acer Aspire 5051, I have to struggle a lot to get Wireless Internet and graphic card to fully support 3D. But I still prefer to struggle on getting drivers and typing commands at command line than with viruses and malware.I've tried various flavours of Linux (Red Hat, Mandrake(1999-2001) Ubuntu ,opensuse ,pclinuxos,fedora recently).I'm not a guru in linux just like to messing around.

But what are the real advantages of Linux:
- Low Cost (Mostly its free)
- All in one OS (comes with most of the software you need, OpenOffice, Gimp and so on)
- Highly customizable (for those who know a little more)
- Several flavors available (distros)
- Several GUI availabe (KDE, Gnome, XFCE, MOTIF and so on)
- 3D interfaces (Beryl and GLX or Compiz Fusion)
- Secure (say goodbye to malware, spyware and viruses)
- Non-stop development (don't have to wait 5 years to see new versions)
- Great for developers (Lots of programming tools available)

The cons on Linux:
- Lack of device drivers for the most recent hardware (still haven't found a driver for my Orbicam webcam)
- You have to know the command line (mainly to compile and install software)
- Not too many fancy and last generation games (some games but not the big titles).That why I'm still using windows for dual boot for gaming and working
with autocad

Why shouldn't anyone try Linux, its free, its doesn't require that RM3000-RM5000 computer or laptop that you saw in the store. You can have both Linux and Windows on the same PC. Give it a go...

Can Amd Turion64 be upgrade to Amd Turion64X2.Meaning that I just change the processor but still using the same notebook.Isn't the socket are same?If can be done,so which model of amd turion64X2?Need help here.
