Inaugural Concert of the Bentley Repertoire Orchestra and Bentley Harmonia Choir

Come and spoil yourself to an enchanted evening of awesome music. Let it move you through a roller coaster of emotions and be thrilled by the program of the evening. For those who love classical music, be ready to allow yourself to push your boundaries in creating beautifully orchestrated music and for those who doesn't, be ready to be inspired to pick up that weird looking instrument you've always wondered and discover the amazing sound it can make.

The BRO is a brand new symphony orchestra and draws its ranks from professional and semi-professional musicians, instrumental teachers and music students. The Harmonia Choir was originally formed to perform Handel’s Messiah at KLPac in December of last year but is now permanently based at Bentley Music Academy. Its members come from all walks of life and include doctors, dentists, solicitors, teachers and bankers all with a common passion for singing and performing choral works to a high standard.

The concerts, to be held at the Bentley Music Auditorium in Wisma Bentley Music will feature Beethoven’s Overture Coriolan, Weber’s Clarinet Concerto number 1 performed by virtuoso clarinettist and BMA teacher Eugene Pook and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final composition, Requiem in D Minor which, as well as the choir, will feature four young and upcoming vocal soloists.

Rock and Shred Like Slash!

Tune up your guitars and bring the house down with the tunes of the Riff Lord, Slash. If you could play like him, this is the contest to be at, to showcase your ability. The winner of this contest will get the chance to meet the man himself backstage and free tickets to watch him live at Sunway Lagoon this August 5th. We hope that this opportunity will benefit you to be further inspired as musician both professional and amateur.

Contest will begin on Saturday, 10th July 2010 at 2pm. Please be at Bentley Music Academy earlier at 12.30pm.
Finalists will be notified via phone/email and will compete on Saturday, 17th July 2010 in the Auditorium of Bentley Music Sdn Bhd.

Registration fee is RM20 payable at Bentley Music Academy. Registration must be done by Tuesday, 6th July 2010.
