Axia E Aircond intermittently not cold

Just received my Axia E few weeks ago and observed aircond intermittently stop cooling and just starts blowing air.

- Usually occurs when switching gears (road bump, traffic jam), but occasionally occurs even when driving on straight road, at steady pace (no gear change)
- When it happens, it will remain that way for the rest of the trip
- Nothing will happen if you try to on/off or change aircond setting, you will just hear the sound of the switches, no sound of compressor engaging
- Occasionally, while messing with the aircond settings, compressor will engage and you can feel the cold air, but it will revert to blowing hot air in 10-20 seconds
- Occasionally, while driving straight at steady pace, compressor will suddenly re-engage and you feel the cold air, but will revert back to blowing hot air in 10-20 seconds. When the compressor re-engages, it can cause light to heavy jolt (sudden stop/accelerate) which I find very dangerous and alarming. Sometimes there will be some weird 'sour' smell as well
- Usually occurs in the evening, when returning home, 1 hour trip, but has occurred in the morning as well. Suspected heat may be contributing factor, but there is no difference in parking condition between home/office, both are open-air with no shade. Furthermore, I'm used to aircond taking some time to 'power up' and start cooling, but in this case, it starts cold and stops cooling. Also, based on what I described above, it is capable of cooling, but the compressor just isn't engaging, so I'm not sure heat from open air parking is the cause

Additionally, whether this issue occurs or not, I frequently observe sound like 'gas entering a pipe/bottle'. Have never observed this in my previous car when it's running properly.

Took my car for 1st service (in under 3 weeks...) but they couldn't find anything wrong. They mentioned the sound of gas entering pipe is normal. They did however, inform that other users of this specific model, Axia E, have reported similar issues. However, they have not found any solution, those users are continuing to use their cars while this issue is unresolved. At best, all they can do it schedule to have the car sent for testing and monitoring, to attempt to identify the issue and possibly solution.

Can anyone comment on above? Anyone experiencing similar issue, and any potential fix?

Window leak

Suspect my windows or area surrounding is leaking. During rain, water seems to flow out from under the paint/cracks surrounding the window. Pretty severe during heavy rain, actually can form a pool on the floor on some occasions.

Contractor has not surveyed site but has suggested PU injection. Quoted over RM 1k. Area is just 3 aluminium windows in single frame.

Is that rate normal? Any other recommendations? Is DIY possible or advisable in this instance?

Image/Manga Viewer with slideshow autopan

Looking for image/manga viewer with slideshow that autopans. Want to view images in original size, and have large portrait images pan from top/bottom, and landscape images pan from left/right or corner to corner. If it can perform transitions (fade in/out) between slides, even better.

Have tried too many apps including Irfanview, and none seem to be capable of this.

I remember reading manga in this manner a looooooong time ago (15-20 years), back when I was still using Win XP. My memory could be wrong, but I seem to remember the slideshow autopanning and transitioning without any need for interaction. Can't seem to remember exactly which app I used back then. If memory is correct, all I had to do was configure zoom level and pan direction before starting the slideshow.

Definitely used CDisplay and the XP Image/Photo Viewer extensively back then. Found the installer for both (original CDisplay, not the newer CDisplayEX) but they don't seem to perform autopan/transitioning, so it could have been another app (assuming memory is correct). Lost all this functionality when I switched to Win7. Never bothered to install/setup any apps I was using at the time, as I sort of lost interest in manga at the time...

Is there any app with the features above?

Where to purchase archival goods

Is there anywhere in Malaysia selling book archival goods? Specifically looking for Brodart mylar rolls to wrap books in.

Have been searching in several local arts and craft stores and none carry such items. Hesitant to purchase from online stores such as Amazon/Ubuy, product selection appears to be limited and catalog differs from the one at Brodart site. Can't trust the sellers, could be selling me normal plastic for all I know...

Reached out to Brodart directly, they informed me minimum shipping costs for oversease shipments....USD 100...regardless of item weight/size...

How do you preserve your books?

I've been wrapping my expensive hardcovers/trade paperbacks in clear plastic after reading, now considering using shrink bags. Is that good enough, or are there better alternatives?

Need advice on archiving/backup

I have been extensively archiving anime and television shows for years, and have close to 40 dvd albums full of DVDs, which is getting ridiculous. I need an alternate, and hopefully cheaper way to backup my data. I'm looking into external hdd as an alternative, but am concerned about the costs. Any advice/suggestions on alternate backup/archiving methods appreciated. Factors to take into account :

- does not have to be portable. I archive and put it aside somewhere, and it stays there.

- Cost. Currently spending around RM 90 for a stack of 100 DVDs, which is around 400+ GB of data. New media should not cost too much more.

- Lifespan of the new media, and how to care for the new media/prevent damage (keep away from heat/moisture, etc).

- Assuming an HDD, initial capacity must be 1 TB or more. One of the reasons I'm looking for an alternative to DVDs is that the folders are taking up far too much space. I have no intention of replacing them with something that will take up just as much physical storage space.

- I do not know if this is an issue, but do HDDs need to be regularly powered, and will data deteriorate/become damaged if the HDD is left alone for extended periods of time (eg. half a year)? I intend to archive data, unplug the media, and just set it aside somewhere. Has never been an issue for optical media, but I'm not so sure about HDD.

And advice/suggestions on this is very welcome, thanks.
