White Haze on dark bathroom tiles

Guys,

I have just installed dark color super rough tiles onto my grdfloor bathroom floor. Problem now is there is white haze layer on it when dried up.
Googling says it's calcium deposits from cement under the tiles, that is being deposited after evaporation.
The problem is further compounded due to extreme rough surface which makes it hard to wipe off.

Looking for suggestions to clean it and those experience with this issue.

Thx.

Hi all, I would like to ask..What's the general rule on the amount of retention sum, and period.
My renovation sum around rm35k...And the contractor is unregistered contractor without company...More like the one man show kind who do many kinds of Reno small works.

Been following closely with progress and completion, and generally is well done and not much problems faced yet.

Moisture Condensation on Plaster Ceiling

Hi all,

I'm currently extending my backyard to a wet kitchen, and the current progress is say bout 70% done. Roof tiles are the large elongated cement (or clay) corrugated kind, and ceiling are plaster ceiling. There isn't any insulation in between.

The issue is we found moisture/condensation spots on plaster ceiling joints on a few spots, and we thought due to roof leak. Efforts has been done to seal the roof even more, with bitumen tape I think, hopefully will stop the issue.

However, since laying the wet ground cement ( prep for tiling) yesterday, this morning i found the condensation was more severe on the ceilings, especially the usual spots like ceiling joints..and i feel it might be a condensation issue instead of roof leak, when i wipe the inner windows and its all damped. Usually I close off that area during the evening and night, no ventilation movement, and i can feel it’s very humid with heavy masonry smell.

Now, i am leaning towards this might be a condensation issue due to the wet masonry works that's not all dry out, and bad airing practice i have been doing at this phase.

Does anyone faced this kind of issue before, and hopefully can enlightened me, as me and my contractor is still puzzled. My contractor is those Chinese-uncle self employed kind, so i suspected he isn't well versed on this condensation as well.

Next phase I will try hoisting the new roof with pipe water to check if any leakage from roof, so i can rule out the roof.

Its a nightmare for me at the moment, not knowing what shit is gonna come down the road due to this water/leakage/ condensation issue.

Kindly share your experience and knowledge, so i know what to look for.

Pink pixel banding on Samsung Plasma

Hi Samsung Plasma owners,

I have experience a very weird problem on my Samsung Ps50C550 plasma.

On bright scene, and specifically on Movie mode...there's a pink color banding (more like half horizontal band) that appears. Its only on the left part middle of the screen.

The characteristics are:

i) Happens on movie mode, not on standard or dynamic...so definitely not burn in.
ii) Pops up occasionally during astro viewing on movie mode, but stay on during in Xbox menu screen.
iii) Seems to react to brightness/contrast adjustment.
iv) Seems to get initiated when on Xbox main menu screen (mostly white), and specifically on movie mode. It will then carry the effect to astro viewing on other HDMI input. So that kinda rules out Xbox problem..

All this seems started when i went into Service Menu just to look see, without changing anything and press power button to exit.

Has anybody experience this very weird problem with your plasmas???

Do you think i should do a factory reset...which i hope to be able to solve this mystery.

Hope all sifus here which has experience on this issue can help.
Samsung Plasma C550 color problem

Hi all,

My model is Samsung plasma PS50C550. From what i gather, Samsung best mode is [/B]Movie and Warm 2 color.
I applied this settings and on some astro HD & SD channels, i experience some screen display color issue as below, which i do not have a term to call it. I have tried adjusting white balance/ Tint/color but somehow can't get away with these issues. i have tried settings from Cnet, Plasmatvbuyingguide and others..but no success.

i) Slight faint Yellowish/Greenish tone to the human fleshtone. I can minimise it by raising Red gain, Red offset. but then the whole color will be too red / pinkish.

ii) I notice slight color banding..or is it solarization effect...something like rainbow effect or color overlapping...on the pictures...I dont know what to call it...but its this kinda effect...albeit quite faint and annoying.

Situation when the issue arises:[

i) I notice these issues only on the warm 2 movie mode. No problem on standard or dynamic mode.

ii) Mostly on SD signals and sometimes poorer quality HD signals from Astro Byond. Especially during dimmer and low light scenes.
On bright scenes...its ok.

However, when the feed is from 1080p / 720p from MKV formats...the movie mode/warm 2 color looks excellent. So, i can safely deduce that this problem only arises from astro feed.

Despite the issues above, i am still hesistant to view on std mode, cause the movie mode gives the best black levels on my set.

I wonder any fellow forumers who own samsung plasma set or other brands faces the same as mine.

Your input and experience is appreciated. Thanks.
Hi...

Do you guys notice most of the time ..the HD quality on HBO HD isn't that great....compared to other HD channels.

Sometimes it doesn't really feel like HD at all...on some of the movie programs.

Do you guys seeing the same? The 310 Zhi Zun, Discovery HD, Sports are great though..

Hi all,

I am new here and would like to sort some opinions from fellow forummer.... Regarding the Astro Byond Interactive Red Dot when u watch world cup channels....is there any way to disable or get rid of the red dot from the decoder settings....

I just got a brand new plasma tv and this red dot is causing rather irritating image retention (hope not burn in) in my set. Been trying to get rid the IR for the past hour but not really succesful yet. Have called Astro regarding it and they so cannot be disable..

Any of u faced this same as mine..Any feedback will be appreciated..Thanks
