Kursk State Medical University(Russia). Should I?

Hey Lowyat-ers, I'm about to take SPM 2011 and I'm clouded in deciding what to do after it. First of all, my 'cita-cita' is to be a doctor(more specifically a medical specialist but that's a story for another day). I'm not one of 'em kids from a rich family so financially I've got some obstacles or rather, roadblocks ahead of me. Most likely I wouldn't be able to afford universities such as Monash and IMU. I'm not sure about the fee structure of public universities such as USM, UM, etc.

I came across a new option(Kursk State Medical University) at an education fair the other day. Sat down, talked, asked questions, and came to a conclusion that the fee structure is reasonable(far cheaper than Monash) and I'm thinking about it. However, some of my friends had negative responses to the idea of studying medicine in Russia(One even laughed and thought I was joking)

So, if there are any of you kind Lowyat-ers here who has or knows someone who has experience in this university or even just knowledge regarding studying in Russia, please kindly shed some light on the subject.

AND, if anyone knows(or roughly know) the fee structure of studying medicine in local universities, please do share.

Demand and Salary for Lawyers?

I'm taking SPM this year and I think it's time for me to seal the deal on my future career path. I'm very interested in becoming a lawyer though regrettably a portion of my 'interest' came from television. I really need some insight on the demand, work environment and the average salary of lawyers(from fresh graduates to seniors/partners, small firms/large firms etc.). Also, which would be amongst the best universities in malaysia for pursuing a degree in law.

So, it'd be wonderful if some lawyers here could enlighten me in these things. Thanks in advance and Happy Chinese New Year

English Literature NOT Offered In My School

Hey Everyone

I'm currently in Form 4(next year SPM). I have decided that it would be in my best interest to drop one of my 'underscored' subjects which is "Prinsip Perakaunan"(I just suck at it) and replace said subject with "Literature in English". However, the subject is not offered in my school. So, any bright ideas as to how I should proceed? Thanks in advance
