History... Since December 2008, the idea was to form a band that can play anime songs AT WILL. The thread started with many individual contributors, posting their own covers of their favourite anime songs. As usual in the music world - lots of guitar, bass and piano/keyboard players, but not many drummers and vocalists. Nine months passed with not much progress. Everyone was playing individually, but not as a band.

Turning point... On August 15, 2009, that changed when we procured our own drum set. It was a gamble - to entice someone to play the drums for us. Some tried, but none permanent. Unknowingly someone from under the same roof discovered a latent talent and started to learn the drums whole heartedly. The first 'band' piece, Kimi ni Todoke (TV Size), was a proof of concept.

The birth of the band... Then progress went exponential. With the video in place, more people believed in the band. Lovesummer came from way north to record the first complete song, God Knows, from the all too familiar anime series. Followed by an impromptu showing at the 2010 Games Anime and Comic Circle (GACC) at Multimedia University Melaka.

The tradition... One thing sets this band apart from any other - this band is fluid. We're open to new members and new ideas. We play live music as well as internet video collaborations. The band is a manifestation of the collective Malaysian anime and J-POP fan spirit. We play any genre - rock, ballad, traditional, jazz - so long as the guitar strings don't break, or the vocalists don't lose their voices, we will play.

Chartered Semiconductor to be bought by Abu Dhabi

The offer, backed by Chartered’s largest shareholder, Singapore’s Temasek Holdings Pte, is two Singapore cents higher than the chipmaker’s closing price on Sept. 4.

A purchase would allow Abu Dhabi to combine its Globalfoundries Inc. venture with the maker of chips that run Xbox 360 game consoles, threatening United Microelectronics Corp.’s rank as the second-largest contract manufacturer of semiconductors. Temasek is ending a 22-year investment in unprofitable Chartered, which has eliminated workers and cut overtime to reduce costs.

Here's a new thread for all American Football fans in this fine forum!

For those new to the game, there's always wiki to help u get started. In short:
1. 11 player per team, one will play offense, the other defense. 100 yard field.
2. The team playing offense has 4 attempts (downs) to gain 10 yards (about 9 meters) by running with the ball, or passing the ball forward. After gaining 10 yards, reset the number of attempts.
3. On the 4th attempt, offense usually kicks the ball away (punt) to the defense. The team roles are switched. If the offense try to progress the ball and don't make it, the defense starts at the last offensive location.
4. Team playing defence can tackle the ball carrier, deflect the ball being passed forward, or even better, catch the ball thrown forward (interception) or strip the ball from the ball runner (fumble recovery)
5. 3 points for kicking ball between goal post at end of field (FG or field goal)
6. 6 points for crossing goal line (TD or touchdown) + 1 extra point (a FG from 3 yards away) OR +2 points for crossing goal line again from 3 yards away

IMHO, the fastest way to learn this game, is to watch someone play Madden™ NFL on PS2/3, Xbox etc...

Prominent leagues are National Football League and College/University American Football's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

Also, we've started our own American Football scrimmage, using a format called Flag Football (no hard hits!).
