Refrigerator with automatic ice maker

I just bought a vitamix which requires alot of ice for the smoothies... So I have decided that my new fridge MUST have the auto ice maker. I know it cost more (not really in fair proportion), but I have tried the human ice maker at home who are completely useless!!!

I prefer side by side, as I am too old to bend to get to the freezer section and though less efficient space wise, the side by side freezer allows me to organise my stuff more neatly (I think).

I have looked at Hitachi, Sharp, Electrolux, Samsung and LG. LG seems to give the best value for money. Any comments or suggestions?

HIRE PURCHASE LOAN - TENURE DECISION

HP loan for cars are now available for 3 years, 5 years, 7 years and 9 years.

I noticed that common mistake in deciding on the tenure is usually on the quantum of instalments. No doubt, the longer the loan tenure, the lower the loan repayment each month.

However, what is not commonly known to borrowers is, in Malaysia HP company charge interest based on rule of 78 (or something like that). Under this system, the interest is earned by HP company UPFRONT.

So, if interest rate is 4% p.a. and loan is 50k, for a loan tenure of 9 years, the HP coy will stand to earn interest of RM18k.

Ideally, we should time the tenure of the HP loan with the expected period we intend to keep the car. So, if you plan to upgrade say, after 5 years, the HP loan should be no more than 5 years.

I used to work for a car rental coy, which take up HP loan for 5 years. But, the company sell their cars after 3 years' use, so in effect, they are paying for 5 years' financing cost even though the loan is only being used for 3 years.

If budget is a constraint, no harm trying for a second hand car or say, a lower priced kancil or saga.
WTB Rattan papasan

I come across a nice papasan. Frame is made of rattan, about 3 to 3.5 feet diameter. The cusion that is placed on top is made of fabric, but is wider than the papasan frame, at least 4' t 4.5 ft diameter.

My fren bought it in one of the furnture shop near the MRR2, many years ago.

Very comfi, wonder if anyone had seen it.

cartpenter needed!

I need to put in 2 single beds & a 4" book case in a small room space of 7.5' x 8'. My girls told me they dont want a bunk bed, and I am against them sharing a queen or king bed, because then they will not hve any private space. After much research, I hve found the idea of getting a low loft bed of about 3' high, and then we cld arrange a low single bed under the low loft in a L formation. The pciture on this link below ill show u what I mean..

http://www.buzzillions.com/image.dox?R=635113

Wld appreciate if forumers can give reconmmendation of carpenters who wld make this.... or has anyone seen something like this in KL or PJ?

[addedon]May 27, 2011, 5:45 pm[/addedon]So far, no inputs from anyone. Maybe the job is not considered profitable...

Anyway, I found someone who may be able to build this for me... I discussed wth my sister (my consultant.. haha) and she worries that this person may not have the skill.

I making a bed very complicated??

This guy I found specialise in other type of woodwork like gazebo and pergola....

Any advice?
