What happened to the main Unifi thread ?

I was reading through the latest posts, when I go to the next page I got the error msg (similar to delete threads)
Checked the index and found out that the whole thread is gone.
What happened?

Replacing an old Pentium D desktop at my office

There is this old PC running WinXP in my office that is turned on daily during working hours (occasionally beyond) for checking email, web browsing and all.
I can't remember the exact model, but it is a Dell with a Pentium D processor (2.80Ghz), 4GB ram and a single hard disk inside.

I am thinking of replacing it with an Intel NUC, probably the 7CJYH, which TDP is stated as "up to 10W"
Gonna pair it with a cheap SSD and 4GB x 2 memory.

I recall reading somewhere that Pentium D has the worse TDP or something like that... I think the TDP is 95W?
My question is... with the same daily usage pattern, will the electricity bill be slightly cheaper if I switch to the aforementioned NUC? At least by RM10?

Power Over Ethernet (PoE)

As per the topic description.

I am thinking of using a flat cat6 ethernet cable over PoE to power a TPLINK WA901ND.
My reason for doing so is I don't wanna drill a hole through the wall or anything like that, I'd rather use this flat cable and route it below or above the door.
Will there be issues with the above setup? Like if someone were to step on the cable (below the carpet), will the power be jeopardized or something?

I'm looking to buy a mini displayport to hdmi male cable to connect an Intel NUC to my monitor.
Upon searching online I found more mini displayport to hdmi female cable (I have to connect an existing hdmi cable to this cable before connecting it to the monitor) being sold, and they are much more cheaper than mini displayport to hdmi male cables (can connect directly to monitor)

Apart from a single cable connecting directly to the monitor looking 'cleaner'... what about the picture quality, is there a difference?

Is this too much for TL-WR841ND?

What is this person trying to do (or already doing)?

See the multiple duplicate MAC address. (46-47-3C-56-3A-60)
Whenever I see this happening, I would block the particular MAC address from accessing the internet and a new one (with the same multiple connection) will appear. I block that one, a new one appears.. cycle goes on.
I know if one client connects and reconnects multiple times in a short period the MAC will remain in the ARP list, but I don't think this is the case for my scenario, since a new MAC address with various IP will appear if I block one particular suspicious address.

And yeah as you can see IP and MAC binding is not turned on, don't wanna go to that extent yet...

This will be used for a long term, at least 5 years.
The only future upgrade for this rig, if any, will be the GPU, and that will probably take at least another 4 years. I might also add another 4 sticks of 8GB ram if the price drops even further just because I can... lol.
Storage is also not an issue because I'll be using this rig with some RAID enclosures.
I am stuck at the PSU though... trying to pick one that has more value for money (e.g. longer warranty), and budget for PSU is below RM700 but if possible I don't wanna hit the cap.
The PSU must be available at viewnet, not buying from elsewhere.

I have the following PSUs in mind, all of which will work fine with this rig:

CORSAIR AX GOLD SERIES 650W - RM539
SEASONIC S-SERIES GOLD 660W - RM529
XIGMATEK MODULAR 800W - RM489
SILVERSTONE STRIDER GOLD 750W - RM599

I am leaning towards the Silverstone...

The connection is Unifi VIP20.
Every now and then I get reports from a few people about wifi dropouts....

The max number of clients that I've seen at one time is 40.

The setup:
Gateway: WR841ND (DHCP enabled) <-----wired -----> WA901ND (AP)
|
|-----wired--------> 1043ND (AP)

So yeah those clients are not served solely by the WR841ND.

These devices have detachable antennas, and I've replaced all of them with TP LINK's 8dBi antennas.

Bandwidth control and access control is turned on, but these f**k*rs still PPS because it can use port 80.

If you ask me why I didn't use the better 1043ND as the gateway, well back then the router was not unifi capable.

The freeze is random. Mine doesn't freeze after login, but the longest it took to freeze was about 30 mins.
When it happens, the only way out is to hold the power button.

Tried clean install, doesn't work. The rams passed the UEFI built in memtest. I've also updated to the latest BETA bios, no luck.
I'm gonna troubleshoot somemore when I get home.
Found another guy in some foreign forum having the exact same problem, gonna post that later since it's bookmarked in another pc.

I suspect it is a driver issue since booting in safe mode even with networking enable won't get the freezing problem to appear.

Had a nightmare trying to solve this since 4AM last night...

I fancy paypass and paywave despite knowing the risk behind this contactless payment system. It's really convenient and fast. Unfortunately, not many merchants use it, and even when you see those who do; most of the time it doesn't work!

I've been getting spam emails from a friend's gmail account. The weird thing is the following:

Is this some sort of email spoofing or what? The address shows gmail but it was signed and sent by yahoo?
Thinking that my friend's gmail has been compromised, I asked him to change the password. That didn't work, as I am still getting spam from his gmail.
The one thing that I've yet to do is check his pc.

Lost my expired driving license

I only have the renewal slip, and the expiry date is September 2009.
I went to the post office to renew, and was told that I must have the license with the photo in order to do so.

Question is.. if I go to JPJ, what sort of problems will I get into, if any?
