Does Astro decoder output in digital coax (audio)?

I have this Astro decoder (Thomson DMT860N) and it has the orange jack (digital coax) and digital optical out on its back. And my AVR (Yamaha RXV665) has only component+coax or component+digital optical cable.. doesn't have component+red/white for audio.

I hooked up the component and it works, but the coax audio didn't work. Trying to troubleshoot, whether it's the decoder itself doesn't output in digital or something wrong somewhere else. There is a firmware upgrade for the AVR so that it can assign component + red/white for audio, but so far the link I found is for USA model only. Even if there is a firmware upgrade link for Asia model, I doubt I would want to go through the firmware upgrade process.

So the question is, does the decoder output in digital coax? Or the digital coax/optical out are just.. dummy jacks. (Since the decoder has USB jack, but in the manual it says; for future uses). I didn't try optical out yet, I don't have the cable.

I read the manual, it doesn't mention anything about digital audio out, just the normal composite/RCA. And I didn't see any option to choose which audio output to use.. (if there is, please let me know!)

P.S. Try to put the cable question aside, since if the decoder doesn't output it, no use for me buying a new cable just for testing.
