Hi guys. I am thinking of purchasing an Xbox360 but I was wondering if us Malaysians can utilize the downloadable content features found in many games today? I've been out of the gaming scene for quite some time. I would appreciate your answers. Thanks in advance!

Not owning a PS3, Wii & X360

I would like to know if anyone here doesn't own any of the current generation of consoles i.e. PS3, Wii & X360. I personally don't. I wonder if those who do ever felt being left out? Sometimes I wonder about this as I see people around me play the latest games e.g. Rock Band 2, Left 4 Dead, Little Big Planet, Mario Kart Wii and here I am still playing with my GameCube (which broke down recently )

It's not that I don't want to keep up. It's just that I don't have the time and money to commit to the latest gaming trends. I'm 27 now. I should be getting a wife and my masters by now. But when I look at videos of the latest games it makes me break a little to know that the only way I could enjoy these games is by watching videos of the games and reading FAQs of it.

So I would like to ask if anyone else feels like me? Or if you have any advice to help me stop feeling this way.

[WTA] GameCube Repair Services in Malaysia

I would like to know if anyone knows where I can send my GameCube to be repaired. I tried troubleshooting it but the problems seem to persist. FYI, my GameCube doesn't show anything when turned on. The console seems to be working but there is no video output. I tried changing the cable but still no video so I figured it must be some other hardware problem.

I would appreciate info on places I could send for service in Malaysia or anyone offering me their services. I would also appreciate if anyone would refrain from saying "Get a Wii!" as I prefer to play my GCN games on a GCN, not a Wii. Thanks in advance.

Anyone up for some DS Wi-Fi action?

Anyone interested in getting online for a session of DS gaming? I've suggested it before but due to some complications I can't proceed with it. So here I am again trying to arrange a game session for all DS-loving LYN members. Anyway, here are the details:

Date: *next date will be determined*
Time: Starts at 12:30pm
Games we play: Any games that have Wi-Fi?
Method of communication: We'll use the IM of our preference.

So guys are you interested? Any suggestions? Please do so here. I really would appreciate it. BTW, here are my Friend Codes and email:

nick: Dario (or some variant of it)
email: besik82 at yahoo dot com dot my

Friend Codes:

Metroid Prime Hunters:

0001
1344
9900

Mario Kart DS

262134
485626

Tetris DS
900465
702834

Will add more as I get more. Guys, please suggest games that can be played too.

Nintendo WiFi gaming session

Hello guys. Based on the response from THIS thread, we will start our gaming session. I am quite new at this so all response and comments are very much welcomed.

Anyway, using the guidelines I wrote here
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

First, create an email address with Yahoo in order to be able to use Yahoo Messenger for chatting purposes. I personally like MSN better but seeing how many have Yahoo more, let's just go with the majority. You can also use your existing Yahoo email address but I know some people are a bit reluctant to share their private email address with someone they are not familiar with so why don't you just create one for the purpose of this WiFi gaming session? If you don't mind all that then just skip this step.

Second, post your nickname, Yahoo email address and Friend Codes for each game you want to play online in the thread here in lowyat. In each post, we will post all the games we want to play online and the friend codes for each game. Everyone should post only once as to not clutter the thread up with multiple posts which may confuse people and cause inefficiency. If you want to make changes, edit your posts.

Third, take note of the time and date for the next Nintendo WiFi gaming session. Log in the internet 30 minutes earlier so you can register friend codes for people you want to play with and also add friends through Yahoo Messenger. This will ensure that there will be no hassle when it comes to playing games or communication later on. It will also give some time for new people to register our friend codes when he or she joins us later on.

Fourth, start the session. Have fun. LOL at each other for making stupid mistakes. Chat with each other while others are playing. Kick some peoples' @$$ and brag how great you are at a particular game.

Fifth, say goodnight. Take note for the next session and hope to see each other again in the next session.
we'll start posting our email address and friend codes we want to play online with. Take note that the guideline says Yahoo Messenger but since then most people prefer MSN Messenger so we'll use that.

Anyway, here we go.

DATE OF NEXT SESSION:
EDIT: Sorry guys. I had something come up suddenly on that date. I will inform the next date at a later time.

Nick:
dario_julius

Email:
besik82@msn.com

Friend Codes:

Tetris DS:

900465
702834

Metroid Prime Hunters:

0001
1344
9900
How about a Nintendo Wi-Fi gaming night?

Hey guys. I know that there are gatherings for the purpose of playing the DS together but sometimes the rest of us aren't able to come because we are not nearby KL or Kuching to attend. So why not arrange an official game night for us in this board? It's where we set a time and day where we go online with our DS and play the games of our choice with fellow forumers from this site. We can manage our chats with IM like Yahoo or others.

I was inspired on how DSFanboy would organize a gaming night every week. So why can't we do it too? I think it would be fun and gives us more opportunities to play our DS competitively with other people. What do you guys say?

Questions regarding DPLI

Hello. I am helping a friend out regarding this matter. She's really interested in becoming a teacher. Unfortunate for her, her first degree is not in teaching (She was a major in Physics with honors from a local university). She tried working in other sectors but still feel passionate about teaching and would like to pursue it as a career. One of her options would be DPLI, correct? She has tried out for KPLI 3 times but failed so that is why she is looking into DPLI. My questions here (for her sake) is:

1. When is the intake for DPLI this year?
2. How does one get into DPLI?
3. Where can one expect to be admitted in their course for DPLI?
4. Would there be any allowance given?
5. What is the procedure? Will there be any interviews?
6. Where can I go to find out more specific information about DPLI besides typing it into Google and looking at forum topics?

Finally, 1 semi-related question:

7. Are there any similar programs to DPLI that one could apply for that isn't sponsored by KPM/KPT (meaning cost of study is paid by oneself)? If yes, can you please share the info on this?

I would really appreciate any help regarding this matter. If you need more information I would provide them. Thank you in advance.
My girlfriend is depressed with the fact that she was not accepted to continue her contract work at UiTM Sabah (b*******s that make sweet promises but never fulfill them). Now she is swimming in the relentless sea of the job market again after thinking she had something secure (UiTM promised to employ her for this semester which they didn't).

Can anyone tell me what I should do since at the moment she's being very moody and lost interest in everything including me? Where can one who holds a 2nd class upper major in Physics (Hons) from UPM get a job (preferably in Sabah)? What kind of job can her degree do? Please help.

Tying the knot

It has come to my realization that marriage is feasible at my age. However, I have absolutely no idea on the procedures of tying the knot for us Malaysians. It's not something that you can go to anyone and ask, "Hey, I wanna get married." without them getting excited and reply,"Really? Who's the lucky girl/guy?" and you have to spend a few minutes (or more) explaining how you met your better half before the person you're asking reveals that he/she doesn't know any more about marriage than you do. Even if they're married, they'll be too shy (at least in my experience) to disclose their own marriage (unless you're also married) and you'll end up feeling like a sucker since you disclosed a bit too much information on your behalf to them.

Anyway, I digress. So my question is, how does one get married in Malaysia and how much one should expect to spend? I hope someone can give me a straight answer to this question as I really want to know. Thanks.

I am asking this on behalf on my gf and me. Is it true if a lady has dark labia it means she has multiple partners? Or is the color the result of getting old? She complained that her crotch area is darker than her skin tone and is not sure of the reason. Any advice?
