Hello guys,

Recently I just update from CS1.6 to CSS. And play with bot a while, found that bot in CSS is very stupid, won't shoot for the first 3 sec when he saw me, so I change the difficulty to 3 and wanted to restart the server for the setting activate. But after I type restart nor reload, nothing happen.
Network problem [urgent]

Recently, I blocked some MAC address using the router mac address filter function. But I didn't realized it was my friend's desktop. He came to find me because he can't online, so I just found out it was because of me blocking his MAC.

So I unblock his MAC, restart the router and also restart his PC. But another problem came out! He was able to connect to the network, but he can't get into the internet. The status showed that his network is keep on sending packets out but not receiving any packets. Sometimes suddenly it manage to receive and open the web page but most of the time, it just cannot.

I've checked his network configuration, all is fine and exactly the same as mine. He did change the ip address before but I already changed it back to auto assign. I tried disable the LAN, used WLAN to connect, it remain the same result, able to connect to the network but not working for the internet.

I faced this problem before on my desktop but I just simply change the setting and suddenly able to connect to the internet but now I just can't remember how I did last time.

Anyone please help me to figure out what's wrong with the setting? I highly doubt it was the router setting, because others all able to connect in, even for those who used to blocked by me because of BT.

Thank you for your helping.

Wireless router problem

Currently i'm sharing the internet connection with another 13 person. all of us using wifi to connect to the internet while the router itself remain as an access point and will connect to the internet automatically.

Here is the problem, someone bt 24 hours non-stop. and this affect other users to suffer the low bandwidth problem and end up keep on disconnect or fail to load the page. sometimes even google also can't enter

I heard from my friend, he said that there is some software that can let me control the bandwidth by myself and set the bandwidth for each user. But heard from another friend said that, if the router is not connected to a server, i'm not be able to control the bandwidth for it.

Actually who is correct? Is there anyway for me to control the bandwidth and monitor the user network activity? I need it quite urgent as i keep on disconnect and i'm rushing for my assignment and exam, if the internet continue like this, i can't do any of my works... I hope i can find out who is the one who always make the network down

Thank you everyone who help me!!

Cannot connect to my friend computer

Hi there!

I'm having a problem to connect to my friend's laptop. We both under a same network and sharing a same wireless network. We can't see each other under the workgroup and also can't connect each other using the ip address(eg. \\10.1.1.3).

The network has been set up properly, because we both can connect to other computer which is under the same network but just we both can't connect to each other.

We tried to use cable connection(RJ45 LAN cable), it's work just fine with no problem at all.

Is it the laptop brand not the same?(i doubt the answer is NO ) Windows version not the same?(one XP Home, one XP Pro, i think the answer also NO ) Didn't setup the file sharing?(NO, we set it up long time ago, we used to shared files at another network)..... So, what other problem may cause this happen? I really no idea for it...

Please help me as we doing project and assignment, it is much convenient for us to share file through the network. Thank you very much!!!
