I am not new to J-drama. I have been watching it since 2009, but since 2020 I have not really followed it anymore except for popular titles like Alice in Borderland. I moved more toward K-dramas because their budgets and production quality became much higher. Recently, I feel like getting back into J-dramas again, so I would like some recommendations.

Cricket Noise Problem

Hi everyone, has anyone here faced this issue before?
I've been hearing a very loud chirping or cricket-like sound coming from my ceiling every night. It starts around 11 PM and continues until dawn (around 6 AM), and it's been happening for the past few weeks. I suspect it's a cricket or some kind of insect.

Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Would pest control be able to handle this?
It's really affecting my sleep, so any help would be appreciated!

Fans bid goodbye on Sunday to a "life-size," moving Gundam model based on the robot featured in the Japanese science fiction anime series, as the exhibition in Yokohama near Tokyo ended its run after an extended display.

The 18-meter-tall giant robot with moving limbs has fascinated fans from around the world by stepping out of its dock and making various poses since the exhibition at the Gundam Factory Yokohama started in December 2020.

The spectacle began as part of a project to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first showing of the television series, which started in 1979.

Fans bid farewell to a "life-size" Gundam figure (bottom L) exhibited in Yokohama, near Tokyo, on March 31, 2024, the final day of the exhibition while drones lit up the night sky in the shape of Gundam.

Intel can finally compete with Apple silicon?

Intel unveiled new computer chips on Thursday, including Gaudi3, an artificial intelligence chip for generative AI software. Gaudi3 will launch next year and will compete with rival chips from Nvidia
and AMD
that power big and power-hungry AI models.

The most prominent AI models, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, run on Nvidia GPUs in the cloud. It’s one reason Nvidia stock has been up nearly 230% year to date while Intel shares have risen 68%. And it’s why companies like AMD and, now Intel, have announced chips that they hope will attract AI companies away from Nvidia’s dominant position in the market.

Shares of Intel were up 1% on Thursday.

While the company was light on details, Gaudi3 will compete with Nvidia’s H100, the main choice among companies that build huge farms of the chips to power AI applications, and AMD’s forthcoming MI300X, when it starts shipping to customers in 2024.

Intel has been building Gaudi chips since 2019, when it bought a chip developer called Habana Labs.

STRIKE OVER: Actors Make a Deal With Studios After

After a grueling 118 days on strike, SAG-AFTRA has officially reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract with studios, a move that is heralding the end of the 2023 actors strike.

The SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Committee approved the agreement in a unanimous vote on Wednesday, SAG-AFTRA announced. The strike will end at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. On Friday, the deal will go to the union’s national board for approval.

The performers union announced the provisional agreement Wednesday, after about two weeks of renewed negotiations. The development came not long before a deadline of 5 p.m. that the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers had set for the union to give their answer on whether they had a deal.

‘One Piece’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

The live-action “One Piece” series has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.

Netflix made the announcement on social media on Thursday, exactly two weeks after the series debuted on the streaming service.

Based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name, “One Piece” follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who searches the Blue Sea for the mythical One Piece treasure. If he can do it, he will become King of the Pirates.
