I've been searching high and low for a good door bell unit but most that I found are battery operated. Only in one hardware shop did i find a wired unit, china brand, RM45.

Help / Advice needed to claim my Booking Deposit

Hi all,

- Offer Letter already signed by seller / agent / me
- S&P ready for comment, sent to seller
- Seller didn't reply
- Nearing the 14 day period, seller (through his proxy/own agent) states he does not want to sell the property
- seller is not responsive to any calls from my agent / lawyer
- My engaged lawyers send an email to proxy/seller, and state that sale is off as per conversation between lawyer and proxy
- Seller / Proxy informs he will not pay any compensation since S&P not signed / unfair to seller

All this was happened in end Jan 2013.

Fast forward till today, I still have not received any compensation nor my 2.12% booking fee / deposit from my agent.
They claim they still need another form to be signed by all 3 parties (them/seller/me - I signed it on Feb 17th 2013. ). Seller again is not responsive and has not signed the form.
Agent not budging / not releasing my deposit.

What can i do ? Anybody i can contact at the ministry @ KPKT ?

Accelero Xtreme 4870x2

Hi guys,

After a few weeks of reading and gathering guts, I've finally decided to install my 2 week old Accelero Xtreme 4870x2 cooler.
Here are some pics and bits of wisdom i picked up while installing the cooler earlier today.
Excuse the noob photography yah.

First off, pics of the Stock Asus4870x2 Cooler.

Ok, first things first, we need to get that back and x-plate out. A few screw turns later and we're done.
The screws were tight, but came off easily with a bit of force.

Next, turn the board over and remove the original fan shroud for a naked view of the card.
The fan power cable was a b!tch to take out though. Patience, mini tweezers and a flathead screwdriver recommended.

Clean all the grease up (alcohol and an eraser) and we get ourselves some nice clear RV770 cores and the PLX PI-E bridge chip.

Vista x64 boot problems - long description

Dear MS Technet/MSDN/MSVP lurkers and general LY-ers,

My Vista x64 SP1 (got it from Connect) build currently boots up to the desktop and then loads for 30-40mins before becoming responsive (with the sidebar, and other startup programmes coming up gradually very very slowly over the course of the 30-40 minutes). You can move the mouse but clicking on anything will be very very very slow. Before last night, it would take less than 30 seconds!
Shutdown also takes a long time, a far cry from the almost instant shutdown before the problem occured.

All this happened after installing a new Heatsink (Xigmatek Red Scorpion, great performer btw). Confirmed it's not a faulty install/cpu problem as a dual boot to XP works fine. On first boot, the XP installation did say the Vista drive (hooked on a SATA port, XP is IDE) had to be checked for consistency, and passed all 3 stages. It did however fix some USN Journals or something. At first i thought the SATA drive got fubared somehow, but diagnostics on the drive (Seatools) from the XP install proved otherwise. I can also browse and use files from the SATA disk while in XP (i played a movie clip and opened up some documents).

Safe mode stops at crcdisk.sys, before loading 20-30 minutes and then rebooting (also a common problem judging form the hits on Google). I haven't tried booting into safe mode again, since it does boot normally although as mentioned, takes 30-40 minutes before becoming responsive.

Booting off from the SP1 CD and choosing Startup Repair doesn't work (it says no boot problems detected).

Short of formatting and re-installing Vista x64, any ideas on what to look for ? Thanks

Quick Claims/Insurance Question

My car (Kelisa) was hit at the back last night (car in front brake, i brake, car at the back screeched and wham). I did not hit the car in front of me.
Both of us made the police reports, he was fined.
Now my Dad sent the car earlier today to my usual workshop and he called me later saying:

"The workshop people said the claims people said that since your car is 5 years already, they will replace the damaged parts with 2nd hand parts. The insurance won't pay for new parts"

WTF ?

So I called MNI (my insurance) to just find out if this was true, and the lady said it was. Standard practice.

Any idea how I can get new parts for the repair work without paying (it seems if I wanted new parts, I'd have to fork out 15% of the costs).
I thought that since the guy's insurance is paying, i should be getting new parts ?
