Drug Addiction

A friend of mine was released from government rehab in January and currently having a relapse. He wants to get recovered and needs help/medication for his withdrawal symptoms.

Can anyone here recommend a place in which shows significant fully recovery after treatment? I am not very much into methadone replacement therapy as it is just another substance and still carrying side effects.

We are open for Islam, Chinese or foreign treatments - looking for something that really works. Share your experience if you, your friend or family members get treated at the place you recommend. Thanks a lot!

Countdown 2012 in KL - Where to?

A friend and I, not local, not sure where to go for the biggest celebration with fireworks in KL. Google does not help much.

What we know:
1. Prime Minister will be at ICT Shah Alam, guess one of the grand celebration will be there.

2. The public concert will be at Dataran Square - apart from street celebration at Bukit Bintang.

3. Not going to KLCC as being told majority will be Indonesians there.

4. Not going to Sunway as we were there for Independence Day.

5. Thinking of Putrajaya but it is could be a confusing city for the newbies like us. Not sure where should we be - only found out something will be going on at Presint 1 or 2. Yet still no idea what should be looking for once there.

Any suggestions? Prefer outdoor. Thank you.

Cataract Removal Surgery

Hi,

I would like to compare surgery charges among the hospitals, but the problem is when I called up the hospitals, they always ask to come for check-up first. The thing is, I could not go to all hospitals and having check-up only to get the quotations then to compare.

Thus, I hope some of you who had gone for the surgery will be able to provide me some information:

1. Which is the best hospital (or which hospital did you go) for Cataract Removal Surgery in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor (preferably with specialist)?

2. How much is the charges for surgery (quoted from the hospital)?

P/S: If you have info on charges for Malaysian Permanent Resident and Foreigner, kindly provide it too.

Thanks.

NEW UPDATE (MAY 11, 2010: 1645HRS)

I have been getting treatment at UKM Hospital and am well-informed of my eye condition - which is definitely cataract. I do not mind about the charges as long as it is done by recognized specialist and not over-charging me, of course. My next option is to do it overseas, however I really need to know if there are good eye specialist centre here in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor. Thanks.
