HOW TO UNLOCK BITLOCKER ON EXT HDD?

First of all, apologies if this topic isn't posted in the right location.

I am tearing my hair out because I cannot access my ext HDD after encrypting it with Bitlocker to go. So far there isn';t any solution on Microsoft and my co's tech support says they dont know how to recover my HDD unless i format it ---> this means losing all my music, tv shows n pretty much my life (maybe overly dramatic but it's like 12 years of stuff esp. music)

Can someone help to unlock Bitlocker from my encrypted hard drive? Am at wit's end

What I did
- Prompted to encrypt using BitLocker so I did. I paused it once to connect power to laptop and resumed.
- After completed, was prompted to create a password and to save a txt file for a Recovery Pin (if I lose the password)

The next time I connected the ext HDD, this happened
- Prompted for password so I keyed correct password in but error message occured (See 1st screen shot)
- Then I tried diff passwords to test (See 2nd screen shot) and realised that the correct password didnt work at all
- After clicking on forgotten password, I was prompted to key in Recovery Pin, which I did by copying it from the recovery pin txt file.
- Jaw dropping screen shot (3rd one in pic) appeared and I am absolutely horrified.

I have googled every single possible page to find a way to recover or save my HDD! There's a Bitlocker repair tool but none developed for Windows 7 yet.
