Social Awkwardness?

I think I'm a socially cold person. Recently, I've just joined new company, as a newbie, since i've just graduated.
I find myself being awkwardly quiet. Actually, I didn't find this side of me a problem at all, I guess most probably due to the way that I'm brought up. But the thing is, I find my colleagues always asking me, "hey, why so quiet?" during lunch/break time. Always kena ask one.

Sometimes, I do envy the way some girls/ladies/women can be so chatty with each other, and have fun chatting. Maybe I just feel indifferent or what, sometimes I just do prefer to listen than to talk, unless I really hv something that I want to add on. is this very weird? and sometimes, I just do not have anything to talk about the topic they're discussing.. but age gaps could be a problem, since most of them already either engaged, married or have children already.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of the awkwardness maybe?
is it very annoying to have someone quiet in a gang?

lack of sincerity, is it my fault?

I've been with B for almost 3 years. This was not my first relationship, in fact it's the third one, but this break up hurts me so much unlike the previous ones where I could just move on easily. I thought I would be okay with it, maybe a couple of days and I'd be back to my cheerful self. But it's been almost 2 months, my mood still suck, and I still cry everytime I think about it.

I am not sure if it's really my fault, but I guess maybe IT IS, to have fallen in love with the wrong one.
I am not even sure if he's the wrong one to be honest.
Even when friends who know about us were shocked to know about this, like they don't believe it, some even laughed (very hard) on the reason we last argued, which led to this break up.

Actually, this is what happened. Because of some event, I got into a mascot, as I wanted to surprise B, that was a day after his bday, to make up for not being able to accompany him on bday, just want to cheer him up and give him surprise. To my surprise, he did not feel happy at all, but instead he scolded me (after we both finish our work) that I did not respect his work yada yada (work related shit). TBH, I didn't even think of that. Furthermore, I wasn't even in the premise that he's working. I was outside. I felt very disappointed and sad, u know, like an idiot?! Even my friends told me what I did was damn cute, and that it'll only just be an argument, we'd reconcile again, but THAT didn't happen.

B apologised after 2 to 3 days after that via fb pm. I thought it was so so lack of sincerity, because I SELDOM, really SELDOM get bombed THAT seriously by him FACE TO FACE. He literally just asked me to GET LOST! I was mad and blurted out what I really felt, it was so unfair and hurtful to me. writing so long only got him saying a short sorry. Seriously, why isn't there more? I thought he was insincere, I thought he wasn't listening at all. It's like u write someone a damn long honest message to have him reply u a freaking short "ok", in this case, it's like "im sorry, take it, orelse, just forget about it" that kinda shit.

It hurts my heart really much. then, we were no longer in much contact and slowly no more.

I DID try to apologise (eventhou I seriously don't think I'm very wrong to expect a sincere apologise from him.
to get nothing in response. no matter how long I write, how much I write.
I was getting really furious and disappointed. WHO wouldn't get angry??
A week later, then he replied, saying just got his internet connection back and stuff like that.
Nothing sincere and apologetic in his replies. Nothing.

What got me sad is the fact that we've been together for so long (to me, this is long). I've given in my everything, be the best gf, never cheated or fool with other guys, be really tolerant with him for not being able to be there for me because of his very long odd hours of work, don't really simply spend his money or what not, help with some chores, and many more. I just couldn't believe it all has to come to an end and realising that he just don't love me enough. I can't feel it.

Some part of me blame myself for doing this, I should have just shut up and accept the apologies and act like nothing happened. A part of me think I did nothing wrong at all.

p/s: I have a strong feeling he'll read this. I hope he does.
Formal attire?

hey ladies, next week will be my first week of work in a company. It's my first time working in an office environment. So, previously my works either did provide me uniforms and t-shirts, or just require casual wear. Like a normal office job, this company require me to wear formal attire.

May I know what do u normally wear to office that require formal attire? Other than collared long sleeve formal shirt, does non-collar blouse belongs under the formal attire category? I am abit clueless here , cus I need to plan an entire new wardrobe. Also, does this mean dress is acceptable too? or must be long sleeve and with collar? and must pants be in full length? what about 3 quarter length pants? Do give me some comments thanks!!

Roses during Valentine's

Hi girls, Valentine's day is just around the corner! So just wana ask around, do girls/ladies/women nowadays still like receiving roses or any other type of flowers during Valentine's day?
For me, I dislike the conventional style of giving roses during V day because it's pricey (esp during this day) and it just doesn't last long. I'd rather receive chocolates and other stuff maybe like teddy bears or perfume.
Nubra not working

I've tried buying once from LYN ladies section a set of nubra, not the kind of expensive one (but I think that's the kind that is being sold in LYN, no other kind/brand anymore). Tried it on, to my horror, not working . Didn't stick onto my skin for long enough, like not even for 5 minutes, if bend, sure easily fall off. I was wondering, maybe because my boobs themselves are small, maybe because of that it didn't work. Then, a friend of mine recently also bought nubra from one of the seller on LYN (also that type of nubra, no other brand ), and the result is same, it just won't STICK on.
Anyone experienced that before as well ? especially cup A/ or cup B... I'm thinking that perhaps it's easier for those that have bigger boobs.
Anyone also using that brand? those that are widely sold online. same packaging, frm what I have observed.
If u have experienced good quality nubra that works for you, please kindly share where u bought it/ what brand/ price. Thank you!

Dealing with Diabetes

I don't have diabetes, but I need to handle a person facing diabetes (yet so ignorant towards it) - my mum.
I'm not sure if I should post under this section, but since it's health-related, hope it's relevant.

Anyone has someone who has diabetes too or the experience of dealing with it?
I know it might not sound serious, but I think diabetes is dangerous when it becomes uncontrollable.
My mum doesn't take care of herself, and her sweet tooth really have caused her much trouble and now worse - diabetes.
yet, she can't give up and sweet stuff eating habits which makes me worry till sick all day. Even if I asked to quit and try to throw all things sweet, she will say she's thirsty and want something sweet. So, do uguys have any tips or special food/stuff/diet to recommend that could, say, make it not that worse?
I do read around for information since im new to this. So, if u have any special tips/recommendations, just leave a reply. Much appreciated. Thanks.

How to handle emo person?

I'm in need of ideas on how to handle/treat/motivate/enlighten or whatever that can help a person that is emo (VERY), and easily get depressed. We can't just ask them to go die, can we? That's why I'm here asking for help. I doubt counseling will work, since this particular person is very stubborn. I mean sometimes, when being with a emo person, naturally, the other person that is not emo, will also get affected too, right? And I hate to be in this position. So,how can I help an emo person? any ideas. Do suggest helpful one. appreciate that! thanks!

Emotional Intelligence (girls)

This thread is open for girls and guys also la. but try ur best not to talk too far away from topic

as we all know, girls are more emotional base. correct me if im wrong, but from what i see, listen and experience, even i myself have to admit that we are, girls are always more emotional =)

im not saying that it's a bad thing or what. just that sometimes when we're too overwhelmed with it, whether it's anger, jealousy, sadness (or EMO), scared, etc, u name it. i won't mention the positive one, because they're good for us!

so, please share how u control ur (negative) emotion? i know some will just let it explode and just blurt it out. but normally, for me,
it's really really difficult, esp when it comes to dealing with customers, some are really problematic and are challenging ur patient, it'll get myself in serious sh*t if i ever explode which i fortunately have not la. even if i have managed to distract myself, i still find it irritating at sometimes.

so, girls/guys, how do u stop urself from bursting or throwing ur temper?
and other negative emotions.

we all know how important it is to have emotional intelligence to succeed in what we do, be it social, work, studies, family, etc.

plus sizes what's ur opinion?

I was packing my newly bought clothes, then while packing, my bro made a remark that plus sizes will not like light colors, such as pink, white, red, yellow, oranges, well u name it, those bright colors.

But the thing is, do all plus sizes avoid lighter shades of color?
and why? should we just try to stick to darker colors.

do you do the same thing too (referring to plus size babes)?

p/s: yea, i know, darker shades make us look less fat, hides those bumps, etc.
but in contrary, i as a plus size, do love bright colors. I love pink, blue, WHITE!!, and yellow.
I don't reli care. but ppl will come and tell me say" hey, fatter chick should avoid more of these colors u know"
like "hello, i don't need ppl to tell me what to wear and what not to..."

welcome genuine opinions.

Just wondering have anyone used body-shaping corsets before to better enhance curve or slimmer waist etc. or even after-labour?
If you do, do share your opinion on its effectiveness. or if anyone knows about it can also share. I'm curious, because I am not sure if it works for all of us. thanks
