New Car Tyres - stick or change?

Hey sifus and donutmen,

Tomorrow I'm getting my new ride, was informed after booking and stuff that I'd be getting Michelin Primacy 4. Yesterday, was told I'd be getting Dunlop Sport MAXX 050 (I believe it's non + ones) instead. I quite bengang but also there's nothing I can do.

So with my driving preference below, can you guys recommend me if I should stick to it, or day 1 terus go change to better donuts.

1) 225/45/R17 (Dunlop SP MAXX 050)
2) Driving pattern - 100km daily driving, 80% highways, 20% city (about 2,200km/month) with holidays and adhoc trips, I think my usage will be around 25000-27000km annually.
3) I only drive at road legal speed, 80-90 kmh, 110 kmh if I rush/overtake
4) Klang Valley, highway condition is decent
5) My expectation is quiet level, as I drive long distance daily, my very first priority is comfort + NVH

So with the above, as I never used Dunlop tyres before, would like to get some insights from you all, if I should use it partially, use them till end of life, or change immediately (so I get better trade-in value)?

Please also recommend me some good models, so far I'm only eyeing on Michelin Primacy 4.

Home Tiles Cleaning

Hey guys,

So I had just finished the installation of stuff into my apartment (first time owning own home) so all that is left is to clean the house and move in with furniture and ourselves.

In one of the room, I tried to clean normally. I knew the stain won't go off but just wanna see how far I can go about doing it. Using normal detergent, nothing comes out. I'm the first owner so this dirt must be from construction work la right?

I'll post some photos, the tiles is not the shiny type, it's matte in color although not so rough surface I think. Maybe standard tiles developers used for apartment houses like that.

I tried scouting for cleaners, those professional ones charge RM800 for the entire house (my house is 950 sqft) so like RM1/sqft excluding bathrooms.

Then I also inquired from the management cleaners (ad-hoc) they can do it for RM150 but I have to provide the necessary stuff, they just clean.

So, what type of acid should I use?

Was told by my contractor, if I use acid, be mindful about my fridge as it's aluminium, and perhaps other things (Idk if it will harm iron and stainless steel as well?) coz grill is iron, stainless steel is my sink and tap. So should I wrap entire metal-ish stuff before cleaning? the vapor will eat aluminium I was told.

So, I'd like to ask you pros, what type of acid I should be looking for to get rid post-construction dirt so I can move in safely?

Should I DIY it if it's doable by myself? or seek professionals or indon cleaners can do the job?

Shopping for Home Appliances on Lazada

Hi,

I'm moving in my newly bought house soon. We expected to completely furnish our home within 1 and a half month.

While grill job and minor renovation is done, me and wife would like to start hunting for appliances.

I went to multiple outlets all these while and will keep hunting for more to survey prices.

My concern now is, almost every time..no physical outlets can match Lazada prices. I myself bought a lot of stuff from Lazada but never expensive ones (more than RM1,000) Sorry if it's not much but we're talking about physical applicances where normally we would buy from actual store instead.

Also, items delivered after purchase if got damaged then how? Ask the delivery guy to take back? Then contact who? What's gonna happen to the delivery charges imposed and for the next one? Warranty is straight to manufacturer? The missing link here is when there's no person in charge.

How is your experience spending on thousands on items which we normally go to physical store? We have a budget of around RM20k on selected items but my wife is skeptical (more than I am). These items include:

1. UHD TV
2. Fridge
3. Aircon
4. Ceiling Fan
5. Washing Machine
6. Kitchen Hood + Hob
7. Vacuum Cleaner

Or am I not hunting enough for better price and convenience? I went to Expo last week at Sunway Pyramid. Had bad experience overall. Is it because I went during day 1?

Gaming PC build

Hi,

I haven't owned a PC for almost 10 years (most of gaming time went on actual games/consoles) so I'm so far behind when it comes to PC stuff.

I wanna build a rig with future upgrades available in mind.

The budget would only be the rig alone, no monitors/peripherals.

I have no concrete budgets right now but most probably less than 3k? or 2.5k? the lesser the better. (I plan for gradual upgrade coz I enjoy the process so it doesn't have to slap 60fps right off the bat.

My requirements, say...to be able to play all Blizzard games(which I think not very GPU intensive?) and some FPS at 60fps and full HD? 1440 capable or not, I also don't know.

The future upgrades is the actual question I'd like to ask all of you PC master race.

Should I want to have a long life span for my machine, should I go for expensive motherboard? Because other components are interchangeable but should motherboard be the future-proof component?

I've seen a few rig builders, Malaysian ones, the US and others on YouTube, they show their setup to play games at less than RM2k but are those upgradeable without major component changes? Like for 2018, I need a new Mobo new processor new this new that. Coz to me if it requires major upgrades to step up a notch, then this project is a failure liao.

So sifu, with my requirements up there, what should I opt for? I love big rooms for improvements rather than pay 1 shot to be satisfied.

Second, if this happens to be a clear cut scam, I'm not the victim (not even rich enough to be at this state). If I want to be completely anonymous about it, I'd create a new LYN ID only for this matter therefore here I am as a best friend of another he saw this post too as we speak, but he's got no LYN ID nor ever browsing this portal

I will only disclose more details IF someone here is willing to help via PM. Otherwise, I'll be as brief and compact as I go. I don't like reading wall of text anyway, just straight to the point so reading may not be as painful.

1) I was let out this issue about 2 weeks ago, but this has happened since last December 2015.

2) My friend noticed a strange transaction and another and another that led to this day.

3) His father, may have been involved in a scam by Nigerian, I did some Googling they called it 419 Scam.

4) Convinced by it, his father had transacted OVER RM120,000 to these assholes.

- Contractual payment of some shady O&G project in Ghana.
- Cold hard cash sitting at FedEx, millions of USD.
- Advanced payment required in order to release the money.
- This BS story involved: IMF/Chambers of BS/Benin Presidents/Lawyers

<<I swear to God, I can go on and on BUT by this time all you intelligent gentlemen would've known this entire thing is a scam, aimed at elderly businessman (his company/business happened to be at a bad slum so desperation might have gotten into his head and did this anyway>>

5) My friend(his son) had confronted him a couple of times but got scolded (trust me he had tried until got into big fights each time).

6) I tried three times, but on a more neutral approach so his father won't treat me as how he did to his own son (so I get to dig more info in a friendlier way).

7) Due to 6) I found out that he is led to a second batch, another millions awaiting...sigh. The first batch involved a total of RM400k (he had only paid around RM120k so far).

8) My friend had lodge a silent complain to MCMC (if it's even the right agency) but no replies, they didn't even open the email lol.

9) We did not go full aggro yet due to his dad's, well...IDK, pride?safety?

10) My friend & I believe that in order to shake him off, we need to gather enough evidence from more credible sources/agencies to back us up. (trust me, his dad's on BKB all the time)
