Resignation Method

Hello.

I had resigned before but this is 1st time such condition in my current place.

My direct boss is based in another state, I am based in KL office. In KL office, i report to the deputy manager since she is next biggest in department and boss not often come down to KL office (maybe once in 2 months or so). I will be resigning next week due to found better opportunity. But i can't possible wait till boss got visit kl office and tender. I also would want to avoid telling him through phone or mail so that he can arrange to come down and further discussion as i wish to end this process as fast & clean as possible. Can I just inform the deputy that i want to tender resignation and at the same time also pass a copy of it to HR? Don't think a call or mail regarding this to direct boss is polite?

Anyone face this situation before? Any suggestion?

Please advise

Employment Bond

Hi guys/girls/sifus/,

I need some advise on a scenario that I may face in near future. Currently, my status as following:

a) Offer letter signed but I am still under probation. I plan to resign soon before official confirmation next month. So, if all is good, I only serve 2 weeks notice due to not being confirmed yet. At the moment, I am finalizing my move to another company due to better opportunity, hence I have not bring out the topic of resignation to anyone yet not at least I get official offer letter from this new company (99% will get).

Here comes the possible problem. Employment bonding.

In my offer letter under training cost section, it is stated as following:

"In consideration of training given to an employee during the employment period, the employee is variable for a compulsory service period as stipulated in the Company's Training Bond Agreement" Then a table indicating training amount = xx years respectively depending on amount<--- Just this much, no further elaboration.

I went for a business trip (which I fear they might insist it is training) late last year to meet up with my direct reporting manager. I went to this trip immediately right after I join maybe 2 weeks later, no time to settle down yet. Manager give 1 on 1 "training" etc job requirement, what is expected, KPI (sort of like induction). At same time, he was there to give presentation to other employee too. After that, basically it is just travelling with the manager around to visit supplier.

Prior to going to this trip and also after returning, I was not provided with any documentation like consent agreement or training bond agreement which I would have been made to be aware that going to this business or "training" trip will bond me with the company to xx years. So far, only thing that I had signed was the offer letter (which include the above training cost clause) when joining the company.

Until now, the company did not say anything about it. I fear they would just say "you should have known that you are bonded since it was mentioned in the offer letter" later if I resign and they say I am bonded.

Assuming the company insist that the business trip was training, So my question is

a) Am I legally bonded despite not signing some sort of consent agreement or training bond agreement other than initial offer letter? I believe an employee should be provided with at least the Company Training Bond Agreement to make the employee aware that he/she will be bonded when going to this training. Besides, I am going to resign while still under probation.

b) I insist on leaving despite the company insisted that I am bonded for xx period. Can I still work at any future new company?

c) In the offer letter, they did not mention the penalty. I guess this is also depending on the HR policy on their Training Bond Agreement? Normally is monetary penalty on xx period of bond?

Please help advise.

Remember all above is just a scenario that I fear might happen. If it doesn't , great but if it does, I hope I am prepared enough to face this.

Thank You in advance

Blank MOnitor with CPU running

Monitor shows nothing but the cpu is running . Sometimes i can see the windows but with the pixtel distorted greatly. So, i concluded that it was the graphic card problem and hence went forth to change it. The person who fixed this agrees that the graphic card is spoiled. After changing and testing it at the shop, it works. Reaching home, this problem occurred again even with a new graphic card. It was working perfectly fine when the it was tested in the shop. Now, the same problem again where the monitor shows nothing with the cpu running. I check my monitor using my laptop and it works perfectly fine. So, the monitor is not spoiled. Does anyone know the source of this problem? Much help is needed. . I will be bringing it back for a final check soon but hopefully i can get some help here or opinions too. Please help. thx
