[solved] Compaq V3000 Lid Switch Connector

Good day

I'm wondering if it is compulsory to connect the Display lid switch module cable on a V3000 AMD notebook. I've been wondering what is the purpose of the cable since last night after my laptop unable to boot. It happened after I disassembled the laptop all together for servicing. The only thing happen after I powered it up are, the cpu is running, the cpu fan spins, 4 beep sounds and I had checked on the Phoenix Bios guide and it mention something regarding the board failure to be recognized. I'm suspecting bad connections to the board and one of it might as well be the display lid switch module cable.

Please assist me in solving this issue.

Issue :
1. Notebook unable to boot up and no display on screen
2. 4 beeps after the power button pressed.

Things had been done :
1. Disassembled everything again and reassembled it again
2. Check for loose connection between the sockets and the connector cables

Suggestion ?

--------------------------
solved,

further reading on my laptop specification shows that the display lid switch module is *not that* needed, except if you need any action to be triggered by it such as Sleep, Shutdown, Standby, Hibernate. Since my laptop is rarely being off, i deemed the function is useless for me thus making the removal of it safe for me.

for the unable to boot issue, very thorough reassembly was done and i found a screw was protruded and made contact to the mainboard, readjusted the screw and it work again.
