Elegan 250 (Kymco) or SYM EVO 250

I am currently riding on SYM VTS 200 (6 years old) - 4th year ownership.

Was thinking to get on a replacement now since I am getting on riding as my daily commute from home to work (30km daily)

While was looking at this Elegan 250 from my regular motor shop at my place, the SA asked me to take SYM 250 EVO instead.
The price different is about RM6k. Was told by them Kymco - who made Elegan 250 is expensive to maintain. Belt alone is RM400 compare to SYM which is only RM1xx. I wonder if that's true?

Of course I have no doubt that current SYM is still good brand & quality product, but with the price offer by Modenas with Kymco quality (Taiwan no. 1 best scooter brand), it's a no brainer to get it right?

Any Kymco owner can enlighten me?
