Problem with speaker (power supply)

Hi, I want to ask the problem with Altec Lansing VS 4121 speaker what is the problem and cost of repair. The problem as stated above where there is no power supply for the speakers. I tried connecting the speaker to other power outage but still no difference.

-Age of item about 5 years
-Suspect the fuse or transformer faulty

Thus any sifu here can fill me in or recommend any contact to repair this problem?

If cost too expensive might as well get a new speaker

Windows system hang and hard to boot up

Hi forum members and sifu(s), as stated in the title; I have a Windows XP OS which frequently hang at times.

When it hangs the whole screen freezes but fan is running. Basically the whole system hangs cannot press anything (mouse and keyboard but got lights). Sometimes got start up problems also where the power button needs to press a few times and the fan is running like a vacuum cleaner.

Age of system: 2008 I think

Anyone can help to resolve this issue? Hopefully it is not the motherboard problem

CD Rom driver cannot detect

Hello forum members, I am facing an issue that my laptop cannot detect CD nor the CD-rom driver. Hardware seems to be still working and functioning perfectly. When a CD is insert it still spins like normal which indicates the CD is still running. However there will no options or pop-up when a CD is insert. Hardware is still detectable by the computer but there is no icon "Computer".

Is there anyway to resolve the problem without reformatting windows?

Problem on desktop

Currently my desktop is facing a problem which needs to save in the correct format where wherever I want to rename anything i need to type back same attribute.

For example
If I want to rename a Microsoft Word document, I need to end with .docx
If a mp3 song I need to end with .mp3

This occurs only renaming on the desktop....without the proper name or if i never key in the .docx or .mp3 and etc, an error message will pop out until I end it with (FileName).docx or something like that (based on the original format created)

Cost of problem I cannot remember

Anyone can help me solve this problem without reformating?

Sry to mention that I'm using Windows XP Professional
