need help

my laptop has occurred a problem recently, it is very lag/hang sometimes till cannot move at all, a light will keep flashing and won't disappear(the light that will flash when open some software or loading)

i checked task manager and sure that the memory usage and processes have no problem so the problem is not related to them

i am also sure that it is not related to virus or Trojan because this problem can be solved by formatting but it is not for a long time, after format this problem won't be occurred but after 1 week, the problem then start again, so now i am keep on formatting when it happened but is really frustrated on it because i cannot install many software

i tried switch ram too but seems like not related to it too

the most serious problem is when i turn off the computer and switch it on next time, it will sometimes stuck in start up screen or even after loaded inside windows, same as the light will keep flashing and not disappearing

is this hard-disk problem or any other part hardware?

sorry for my bad English explanation
