Footer note in HTML

I am trying to insert a footer note at the bottom of a html page regardless if the browser is resized or not. Most of what I see on the web are hacks. Is there any standard and proven solution to this?

Java applets vs Flash vs Silverlight

Hey guys,

In terms of delivering content and getting content from client side which of the above do you think is best?

Adobe flash 96% of market, java 76% and silverlight 66% source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Internet_application

Not really concerned about market but delivery and performance. Java has been in the industry for a while and for adobe I don't see anything more than pdf. An example I would give to Windows Developers is Win32 vs .NET you definitely know the raw access you will get with Win32 is superb polished and well defined applications. As for silverlight no comment on it. Deep down in communication I see java all around and communication/multimedia is where my production is heading however, I have never tried any of the above in delivering bidirectional high torqued data.

Java is 100% free ever since while Adobe tend ask for some extra pennies to do some certain things which makes me skeptical about the future for example asking flash users to pay for it. Your input is highly appreciated.

What takes most of your time when developing apps

I found out sometimes I spend a whole day writing a function/method of less than 50 lines. I can't really explain what takes my time. Some times it seems to be the algorithm, keep trying and it wont work. Sometimes silly compiler error believe me compiler errors can make me re-write the entire code and at the end I will realize it is just a compiler error. I want to know from others here what takes most of your time when developing applications?
