[HELP] Strange desktop reboot(?) issues

Hello all

I'm having an odd problem with my desktop - it randomly shuts itself down and then attempts to start back up again. I'm not sure if it's considered rebooting, because there's a small lag between the time it shuts down and when it boots back up again. For example when it shuts down, if you flip off the main power source, wait a bit, then flip it back on again, it'll just power on by itself as if nothing happened.

I don't know if this is considered an overheating issue, because my chasis and fans are free from dust and all of them work fine. However I notice I never have this problem when I run it in an air conditioned room..

Also, it will only go into this switch-off-pause-than-start-up-again phase in the first 30 minutes of usage. If it can go on without shutting itself down in that time frame, my pc works just fine for the rest of the day. Normally, when this happens, I just wait a little while (10~15 minutes) and try again - then it'll work just fine. This happens once or twice a week. For the rest of the week, it's fine.

When it first started doing this, I thought it was overheating and cleaned it up. Problem didn't go away. Then I thought it might be a software problem, so loaded in a new HDD (one identical to my previous one) and reinstalled windows. Nope. Dragged it to the guy who assembled it for me, he couldn't figure out what was wrong either. My rig is almost a year old - so I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with my motherboard/graphics card etc.

Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? It's been like this for around a month now, and I still haven't figured out what's wrong. I've read through most of the FAQ's regarding rebooting issues, and still no luck. I haven't tried checking out all the hardware one by one though - I'm kinda hoping that I don't have to go through that.

TL;DR Desktop enjoys rebooting(?) itself once a week and appears to like air conditioned rooms.

Thanks in advance!

[addedon]August 8, 2011, 8:51 pm[/addedon]**Oh, when I say randomly shuts down, I mean randomly shutting down, no BSOD, no warnings, no errors, nothing. It'll randomly shut down when I'm browsing the net, listening to music etc. I've already unchecked the auto-restart option thing in the Systems.
