Mini outlets on the boom!

Well, talking about food here. I was amazed by the number of outlets as in small ones mushrooming everywhere. It seems like more and more people are getting themselves out of their job well tho there are also those who still keep their job to concentrate on here. Is that because everyone sees it's a lucrative cash business or is it merely passion? Whether they are making money or not, it seems like they are well accepted by the public. I've been with the big ones and of course big or small each has its pros and cons. I knew there is a lot of aspiring people wanting to start small in the f&b field and I'm not an exception. Having worked with bigger players, I wonder how it should be like running a smaller ones(stalls/small outlets/kiosk etc). So for those who are looking to set up one whether it's now or later, experience or inexperience, let's make this thread a place for us to support each other. Welcome any form of advice, suggestions, questions, views, and everything else to kick start your little stall.

Besides sharing and helping each other, we could build our network of friends here people who share this interest. =)

Guys need help here on Creative Marketing.

A food operator running a very small outlet selling food with limited items(dishes) in the menu. Given that the food business is very competitive nowadays, the question is how to market or attract people to the outlet in an unconventional way/creative way? Any suggestions welcome. thanks.

hi guys,

We just want good food, at a reasonable price and portion. Office guys and gurls would definitely look on for this. Let's share and discuss about it and at the end, any recommendation would definitely be great.

How would you guys think about this dish in terms of the price - at RM4.80 for a plate of rice with an egg and it comes with a drumstick or chicken breast(at your choice) in a broth?

Recommendation: Restaurant D.U. for it's char siew and roasted pork rice - RM4.5
