T&Cs when engaging a home-based babysitter

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with engaging a home-based babysitter (like aunties recommended by friends' friends or even total strangers or perhaps some contacts from parents' groups)?

During meet-up discussion on the fees, terms & conditions, working hours, do's and don'ts' etc, do you actually write it down and request for signature on both parties (parents' of the child and babysitter) including photocopy of the babysitter's IC? Perhaps I sound paranoid, but I am putting my precious one in the hands of a total stranger in the hope that my baby will be taken care of at the mutual understanding of both parents and the babysitter.

If it's a registered childcare center, then if in case anything happens we can report to the relevant authorities (some centers even have CCTV as evidence), but if it's home-based and mutual understanding (unless the 'verbal contract' is being misused along the way), how can we protect our little ones? (FYI, both me and husband are working, so we had no one else to look after our baby during working hours)

Insurance for Newborn

Hi all experienced parents,

May I know when is the best time to start buying insurance for a newborn? Is it before the baby is born, or after?

Which package are you currently subscribed to? What is the pros and cons of the package?
Advice from friends is to get it after the baby is born. Wonder how much does baby insurance costs? Is there one where we can invest from newborn until adult?

Appreciate your advice.

Flights: Checking-in at KL Sentral

Hi, does anyone have any experience in:

1) using debit card to pay for the flight tickets online (no credit card)?
2) using Cathay Pacific's using e-ticketing system. Does it mean if I reach KLIA, I just need to show them the passport and the print out of my payment to board the flight?
3) checking in at the counter of KL Sentral's ERL counter? (passengers of this few airlines like MAS and Cathay Pacific can do this, according to the ERL website). How is the process like? Will they just confirm my attendance or does it include scanning of the luggages etc?

Just want some opinions on this (c from friends n relatives)..

Situation

When frens: Guy and gal hv feelings for each other
When courting: miss each other so much.. want to be tgtr all the time..dun hv to sleep.. jz chat all nite long..
when become couple (early stage): stick tgtr like 'you char kuey'..so lovey dovey..
couple (middle stage - still tgtr): "i want to hv own freedom n privacy, we dun hv to stick to each other all the time mah, u hv nothing better to do ah!"..
"duno wat to talk already"

couple (later stage - if still tgtr) : married, hv kids.. the gal will become free maid of the hse, guy will sit down, watch tv.. the stage where relationship taken for granted
couple (later stage - if x tgtr) : break up, find new one.. start all over..

n here comes the Q: y does the guy treat the gal so nicely before coupling.. but after coupling (n especially married).. does the gal get treated differently?

What kind of topics that ur gf/bf don't like to talk abt (like if u tell him/her s'thing.. all the say is 'oh'.. then silent...)..
