I've been driving manual for several years now and I enjoy it despite what people might say about it (troublesome during jam, etc). Most of all, I enjoy the novelty of driving a manual.

My question is, is it naive to want to buy a new manual car? I've always rationalise driving manual by thinking that it's more fuel efficient compared to automatic. Is this still the case?

The cars that I'm considering is one of the new Myvis that's released today, and the 2016 Toyota Vios 1.5J MT.

I have an XPS 15, (L502X), with a Sandy Bridge i7 quad core, 2GHz processor, and nVidia 540M GPU, with 6GB RAM. While playing offline with bots is excellent and practically flawless, the same can't be said when playing online. There's a lot of 'teleportation' by me and by other players on my screen, popping in and out, back and forth, like 30% of the time. It's basically unplayable.

My ping is usually around ~20. I'm sure I'm in a local server, as the server is named LowYat.

Is 5Mbps not fast enough? Or is there something wrong with my settings somewhere?

4th March 2012: Purchased camera in CamWorld, IOI Mall.
24th July 2012: Was watching a football game at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, and the lens error message appeared. Pressed the On/Off button and everything worked fine again.
28th August 2012: Was taking a stroll in the park at night and the lens error message appeared again. This time the lens cannot be retracted, just like in the YouTube video above.
29th August 2012: Sent it for repair at Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. at Peremba Square, Shah Alam.

Where to find cassette tape adapter?

So I have a car with no Aux input, but I want to plug my iPod in.

The two viable options for me are:
1) FM modulator

I'm not considering the FM modulator, since it will have inferior sound quality compared to the cassette adapter. Hence I'm going for the cassette adapter option, since I have a cassette player.

Problem is, I don't know where to get them. Does anyone have any idea? Car shops? Music shops? I live around the Subang area.

I've searched at VANS outlets, Studio R's, Royal Sporting House's, Sole What?'s, and all of them disappointed me. I gave up and thought that the only way to get what I want to buy them online.

Zappos doesn't ship to Malaysia.
ShoeBuy ships to countries like Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, but not Malaysia.
Dogfunk can't ship Vans outside of the U.S.
Altrec too.

Any advise?

I think it'd be a good feature if there's an easy way to check on our previous posts, so that we can see the response it brought.

It'd also be nice to be automatically subscribed to whatever thread we've posted in, to keep us notified on new replies.

It's quite annoying to keep searching for the forum that we posted on every time we want to check back.

All Dell laptops with a Mini DisplayPort

For those of you Dell laptop owners without a VGA port and with a Mini DisplayPort (click spoiler below for images), to connect to a VGA monitor or a VGA projector you'll need a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. Now the most common adapter you can find is from Apple, which costs RM 99.

However that adapter is meant for Macs, and doesn't work all the time with Dell laptops. The right adapter to buy would be the StarTech adapter, which is meant for Dell laptops.

Hopefully this has been some help for some of you. But there is still one final problem. I don't know where can you buy the StarTech adapters in Malaysia.

So if anyone knows any dealer or shop that sells this particular adapter, do let me know.

This survey could be very useful for new laptop buyers to decide on their warranty length.

I've never had a laptop (getting one soon though!), but I had a Dell desktop for more than 4 years before it just suddenly died completely. Warranty was finished, and so I just ditched it.

Important note: XPS 17 also has a refresh, the L702X, but it is not expected to be released in Malaysia. The XPS 14 has been heavily rumoured to be discontinued, it was not refreshed by Dell with Sandy Bridge processors.

The L502X is initially scheduled to be released in Malaysia by late March, but is now expected to be available by mid March. However it will only be available for ordering once it is released, there will be no pre-orders.

Personally I will be hoping that all of the parts will be in stock, especially the backlit keyboard and 1080p screen, which tend to be missing very often.

Looking for a drum teacher

I started taking drum lessons in July 2008. Bought my drumset during November/December 2008, thought I could learn by myself, so I stopped my lessons in January 2009. When I stopped I was almost finished with the RockSchool Grade 5 syllabus. Didn't take any formal examination.

I have not been taking any formal drum lessons since. I was in the percussion section in my school's marching band for over a year, and have converted from a matched grip player to a traditional grip player, even on the drum set.

I have just finished my SPM last month, and am now hoping to further improve my drumming with an instructor. I live around the USJ area.

I was just informed that I was not chosen for the 1st batch of NS. Hereby is the message:

First of all, I think that this is a splendid phone, absolutely splendid. And not really because of the specs, but more to the form factor and the keypad.

See I'm not a fan of touch-screen phones, they feel unreliable, just IMHO. I've had a feel of this phone in a few Nokia shops and I am extremely impressed by the keypad. It's is very comfortable to navigate, and... I love it.

I'm also not a fan of 'mainstream' phones with fancy designs, anorexic shape and buttons that are impossible to press. This is what mobile phones are suppose to be, and THIS is what Nokia is best at making. Classic phone.
