Planning to get a corner lot landed house.

Most can only park 2 cars at the porch which is not enough.

Is it possible to install an extra gate? Will this require approval from local authority?

condo main circuit breaker tripping

Lately, during thunderstorm my condo elcb trips (main breaker). i.e. whole house no electricity.

This happened after I changed new aircond, but the thing is it is using back old wiring.

Any idea what could cause this? previously mcb trip (small breaker) due to upstairs leaking water to my light but that has been solved.

First time encounter this issue in condo as normally condo wont trip during lightning.

Usb c cables burnt

Lately i have had 3 usb c cables burnt at the tip.

1st cable - cable that came with xiaomi hair clippers. Connected to ldnio socket hub but no device connected.

2nd cable - cable from daiso. Connected to same ldnio socket hub but no device connected.

3rd cable - cable from daiso. Connected to ldnio charger (diff from the above) and was charging my vape overnight.

What could be the problem?

I added a SSD to my office desktop and intend to use the Original HDD as backup.

Problem is there is only 1 sata connection.

There is a ODD but the connection is different. Smaller than normal sata.

Is there an adaptor i could buy so that i can unplug the cables on the ODD and use it on the HDD?

Reason for sale: too small for wife. Laid flat about 35cm at the bust and length is about 150cm.

Led driver replacement

My experience is that most led lights failure is due to the driver.

The drivers provided looks cheap and flimsy.

I have a couple of laptop adaptors lying around.

Can i use them to replace the led drivers?

Crack in wall - apartment

There is a crack in one of the walls in one of the rooms.

The crack can be seen from both side of the wall.

Dear all,

Wondering if any of you have experience with JV with developer.

Total GDV breakdown as follows:-

3 corner terrace - 400k per unit = 1.2mil

66 intermediate terrace - 350k per unit = 23.1mil

18 semi d - 500k per unit = 9mil

Total GDV = 33.3 mil

Dev propose that landowner gets 6 semi d, 20 terrace, 2 will be corner. About 10.1mil in value.

Renovation fees reasonable?

Have engaged an indon contractor to renovate a home office of about 700 square feet.

Work:-

(1) install plaster ceiling to all ceiling except balcony, toilet and entrance outside the house. Normal simple flat plaster ceiling, no cornice.

(2) install LED downlight, total 27 lights.

(3) 3 aircond wiring and 5 triple plug points, all direct to fusebox.

(4) install doors for 3 rooms.

(5) cover up kitchen windows with cement board, about 6 feet x 4 feet.

(6) remove windows (old naco windows) x 2 - about 4 x 3.5 feet and replaster back after install aluminium windows.

(7) repaint whole house, door frame and doors (4 door frames) and grills (main door grills, 1 window grill and 1 living room grill);

(8) remove old tiles for bathroom (floor area 36sft - 9x4) and kitchen (floor area 70sft - 9x6) and install new tiles 7 feet high and for floor and kitchen top. Waterproof flooring for bathroom and kitchen, remove window for bathroom and cement it up, install exhaust fan, install new pvc sliding door;

(9) install cement board for bathroom ceiling (to cover water tank);

(10) fix water tank float;

(11) install new toilet bowl and bathroom accessories;

(12) install 2 lights - 1 for bathroom and 1 for balcony.

(13) new piping from ground floor (water meter) to 2nd floor, poly pipe. New PVC pipe for toilet and kitchen.

(14) install knobs for new doors x 4.

(15) install new fusebox and new fuse (DB).

(16) dispose off rubbish.

Things they buy -

(1) plaster ceiling board and aluminium frame for plaster ceiling;

(2) cement, sand, waterproofing materials, silicone for fixing tiles on cement board for kitchen;

(3) poly pipe n pvc pipe.

(4) wires - 2.5mm for plugs and aircond points. 1.5mm for lights.

(5) fusebox + fuse and new 63amp elcb.

Things i bought:-

(1) LED downlights;
(2) paint;
(3) tiles;
(4) doors for room and bathroom;
(5) bathroom toilet bowl and accessories; and
(6) door knobs;
(7) exhaust fan;
(8) switches and sockets.

Am being charged 9k for their work. Is it reasonable?
