Road Tax Expired Summon

Hi Guys

When I drove my car out the other night, suddenly there is a police car chasing me behind asking me to pull over. Then the police checked and and said my road tax expired. I thought I have renewed my road tax for this year but actually I was not. So I was being fined for two offences:-

1. LKM Tamat Tempoh (Road tax expired)
2. Tiada Perlindungan Insuran (Insurance expired)

The police did not bother to explain anything, just hand me the summon and drive away. When I looked at the summon, it did not mentioned any amount. It did specified I need to attend court at future date and time. At the bottom of the summon, they did not cross out whether the summon can or cannot be compoundable.

I tried https://mybayar.rmp.gov.my/ , can see my summon there and under the compound written N/C. So in this case, the only choice I have is to attend the court? I also tried this https://ecourt.kehakiman.gov.my/ but cannot find my summon also. Anyone have any experience to share? What is amount of fine for first offence?

Thanks alot.

Earliest Passport Renewal

Hi guys, my passport is expiring in end August 2024 and I am planning to go to Thailand on early March 2024. Based on the official website, it says passport should renewed 6 months before expiry and we cannot travel if passport validity is less than 6 months. I also heard that we can renew early, but the expiry date will not follow current passport expiry, which is Aug 2024, but it will get shorten to Feb/March should I renew it earlier in Feb/March before reaching 6 months of expiry (in which I will lost more than 6 months validity) So in this case, I only have less than a week of window (basically just a 2-3 business days as February is short) to do passport renewal? Can anyone advise?

Thank you.

Travelling to Singapore and back to Malaysia.

Hi All

I am currently an employee pass (EP) holder for Singapore, but back to Malaysia working from home ever since this COVID-19 outbreak. My EP is going to expired soon in Feb next year, so I need to renew my EP. I was contacted by the agent appointed by my company and upon consultation from her, I need to be physically present in SG in order to renew my EP.

According to her, entry into SG need my company to apply to MOM prior before, then I need to quarantine myself for 7 days. After that I can proceed as normal.

After I done my renewal, I will have to get back to MY. Under standard process I will need to quarantine for 14 days at their quarantine facilities and pay RM2100 for the fee? Anyone have done this before?

I aware there are RGL (Reciprocal Green Lane) agreement between SG and MY. As I read through that, there is no need for quarantine at all, just do swab test and cannot take public transport and adhere to pre-declared controlled itinerary. Have anyone applied for RGL before to renew EP? What is defined by controlled itinerary? Cannot eat outside? Cannot go shop buy things? Cannot meet friends?

By going through RGL I could potentially save up RM2100 for the quarantine fee in MY (by quarantine myself at my home) or possibly shorten my stay at SG to less than 2 weeks. Anyone have done it before can advise?

Thanks in advance.

Travel Insurance

Hi All

Recently I got a job in Singapore and I am travelling back to Malaysia on weekly basis (weekend). I am considering the purchase of annual travel insurance now. Problem is the travel insurance mentioned that the originating country must be from Malaysia. Currently I do not purchase return flight tickets. I always buy one-way flight ticket (buy either from KL to SG or SG back to KL in 2 separate booking). Do I entitled for travel insurance in MY or do I have to buy it in SG?

Thanks alot.

Hi Guys,

I am staying at Taman Cahaya, Sungai Chua Kajang, nearby to AWET Thai restaurant there. Anyone from around that location mind to share what are the broadband alternative you guys using?

At the moment, I am stuck with 4Mbps Streamyx and it cost me more than RM140 per month, it is really painful using this Streamyx. Already register interest for many times and they just don't bother to install fiber. I tried to use Maxis 4G LTE, but my area also no 4G connection, even though it show 4G in Maxis coverage website.

Anyone from around there using the Digi Infinite RM150 package? is 4G available there? How was the speed?

I read news that Digi Fibre is expanding to Kajang, but I check and no coverage also.

I am looking for unlimited quota option, any ideas anyone?

Thanks!
Microsoft Excel Help

Hi,

I am having a problem with excel where i use Vlookup within Vlookup.
Below is my code:
=VLOOKUP(E12,VLOOKUP(E11,Lookup,2,0)&"Look",2,0)

If I replaced the VLOOKUP(E11,Lookup,2,0)&"Look" with AirLook (which is a defined name consist of dynamic array), I am able to get the result I want.

I take out VLOOKUP(E11,Lookup,2,0)&"Look" indepently and I manage to get the AirLook displayed correctly.

Now the problem is, Vlookup actually return a text which is "AirLook" in this case where I only needed Airlook without the double quotes, which is a defined name for an array.

I think this is got to be using INDIRECT but I am not sure of how it works.

Kindly help me with this as I have no idea how to converting a text to a defined name array.

Thank you so much.

Regards.
