system physical memory cache

I am having a problem with my vista.

im using vista premium on a 2gb ram machine and everytime i want to play a game it gives me only 600+ mb of my ram when there is more than 800 kept in cache. this is very very annoying because i turn everything non-essential off and i do not see why vista needs half my memory as cache!

any words on this matter and how i might be able to sort it out? thanks in advance.

btw, will installing xp solve this??

lappy CPU cache

i am planning on getting a new lappy, customising a dell.

however before i make my purchase, i am undecided about the benefits of cache.
would there be major differences between the centrino t7250 with 2mb cache and the t7300 with 4mb? both are 2 Ghz.

i plan to use the lappy for gaming and photoediting.

thanks in advance

question on macromedia flash 8 .swf to .avi export

I have made a flash animation for my university which includes embedded videos and audio.

my question for all the flash gurus out there is why when i export my animation as a movie (i.e. avi) the audio is completely out of sync with the rest of the animation and sounds garbled when it actually plays???

i don't understand why because when i publish it as an .swf or projector exe i have no problems with audio.

thanks alot in advance

can do pretty much everything but...

im using an aztech 600e attached to a dlink DI-624 wireless router

my problem is that i cant connect to msn messenger thru the windows prog but i can connect to msn webmessenger. all the time my pc is telling me that MSN is uavailable but this cannot be.

also, when i download, my speeds are abominably slow at 5 KB/s when it should be 50 KB/s (im using streamyx 512). also, downloads seem to just get stuck halfway and never continue.

im a relative noob at networking but this has never happened before to me.
any pointers? thanks in advance

DNS settings are all ok.
