compatible adapter for use in USA

I have a dilemma right now. Currently I am using Acer Aspire 4920. Soon I will be leaving to US to further my study. I heard from my friends over there that the AC voltage there is different from the one we have here in Malaysia - 110v as compared to 240v that we have here. So I was wondering if I should get myself a 110v adapter? Should I? And can I get 1 in Malaysia? My laptop is quite old but it is serving me good and I don't see the need to go and buy a new 1. So I am quite worried if I am unable to find an adapter once I got there seeing that Acer is so unpopular among those Americans.

Any advice?

[addedon]April 14, 2010, 10:59 am[/addedon]ummm...after some research and chatting with seniors, i do need to get an adapter and preferably i get 1 there.thanks for viewing.
