HyppTV STB mess up ARC

I have a Sony TV & a Sony 5.1 HTIB. Audio is automatically output to the HTIB receiver & I can switch on/off both TV & receiver simultaneously with 1 remote. I believe this is called ARC

I installed unifi recently & got the HyppTV STB. When the STB is plugged into my system, it messes up the link between the TV & HTIB receiver. I get a "communication error" msg & all audio (astro/BR player/HyppTV STB) goes to the TV speakers. The on/off switch also no longer switches on/off both TV & receiver. When the HyppTV STB disconnected, everything goes back to normal. WTF??!!. Any sifu can help?

Hi,

I'm quite tech savvy but not so knowledgeable when it comes to financial stuff, so I would appreciate you guys comment/feedback or point me in the right direction:

1) ASNB funds vs PRUlink assurance investment linked plan, for long term investment (say 20+ years) which is better?

2) I know ASB max is 200K, what happens if you have more than 200K?

3) For the various ASNB funds, can I check units availability on-line?

TIA

Mineral vs fully synthetic oil

Hey guys,

I'm driving a civic FD, now clocked about 35k. I switched to fully synthetic oil on my 15k service but now I'm thinking to switch back to mineral. The reason is because I think paying extra for the synthetic oil is a waste. Honda's servicing schedule is oil change every 5k. Synthetic oil is supposed to last longer, about 10k isn't it? So what's the point if you're going to do oil change every 5k? Yes I know synthetic oil is also high performance bla-bla-bla but I'm not driving F1 car.

So the question is whether there will be any problem switching back to mineral from synthetic? Appreciate you guys input. I've already discussed with the honda SC and also googled the net. I just want you guys opinion. Thanks

Ipod touch USB cable connector

Touch newbie here.....

I have a 1st gen 1GB ipod nano. Recently I bought a Touch (16GB; 1.1.3). I installed the latest version of itunes & started synching music, videos & stuff using my existing nano USB cable. Some songs become corrupted when transferred to my Touch. The song plays ok on my pc & nano. I have swapped the cables, now using the new cable that came with the Touch, re-synched & now all ok. I guess newer ipod dock connectors are wired differently.

1) The 1st gen nano usb cable connector has buttons on the side that you have to press to unplug. But the new Touch connector is shorter & does not have the 2 buttons. So just simply pull out to disconnect-kah?

2) I grabbed some you tube videos using orbit then converted using videora. When I play the videos on my touch, some videos stutter & blanks out momentarily at the beginning then continues smoothly till the end. But the same video plays smoothly with itunes on my pc. Anybody else experience this?

TIA

I just bought a linksys WAG200G wireless gateway & a wireless USB adapter (also linksys). I have 1 pc which is connected wired & 1 other pc which I intend to connect wireless. This is my 1st time with networking stuff so appreciate you guys help with some noob questions.

1) on my wired pc, previously with my ZTE modem I have to manually connect to streamyx. Now with this linksys gateway my pc is automatically connected as soon as switched on. How do I configure it so that connection must be done manually?

2) wireless security is disabled by default in the linksys setup program. which security should I use? (I have not set up wireless connection on my other pc yet)

TIA, cheers

I've read in reviews that the ipod touch safari browser does not support flash or java so some web pages will not display properly. Why? What is the technical reason for this? Is it a hardware limitation? Or can it be fixed in future firmware updates?
