i want to compare two strings using if statement! one is stored inside access database and another is input by user. any ASP EXPERT please tell me how to write down the code.

SQL question

i had installed oracle 10g last night! i had few problems

1)i try to connect the oracle database using microsot data source odbc administrator! while i connect, its pop out a error message "unable to connect sqlstate =s1000" ! what is it means and how to solve it??

2)i m using sql plus and i had 2 database! so which database i was in after i login to the sql plus and how to connect to the other database? is it using "Connect" command? i try and it wan me to insert the password but it wouldn't work as i had insert the correct password?]

3)evertime i try to connect to a database, it want to insert username and password! but during the database configuration, i didn't supply any username or password! so how to i know what is it!?
