Torch 9810 Brighstar - Blackberry ID Issue

I've been using this  for almost 6 months with no issues.

Earlier today I saw that the clock and date skewd all the way to 2044, so I immediately changed it back to the correct date and time. Afterwards, I got a notification that I got to log in to my  Protect, which required me to login my  ID, so I did it, but it failed to login, saying that my  ID account is not accessible. I kept on trying until I got fedup and deleted  Protect.

Later I tried to reinstall  Protect, and when I tried to login, the same problem as when I tried to login to my  Protect account earlier came up again. I did it countledd time and still the same problem cropped up, so I tried other passwords until my ID was blocked for 15 mins.

So I tried to change my ID, successful and tried to login my ID with the new password but still the same issue came up.

So I googled around and one of the tip was to key in all passwords for e-mails going in to my , but this problem cropped up ( see picture ).

Anyone knows how to rectify this problem with my  ID and the e-mail setup? Thanks!

Good + Stable Mobile Broadband Coverage : Cheras?

I'm renting at a 8 floor low - cost apartment here ( I'm at the 6th floor ) at Taman Bukit Segar, Cheras. My block is the third one from the top block ( uphill ).

Quite tired of surfing via my phone, and thinking to bring my laptop home from my office. I also travel, usually to Penang Island, Kuantan, Ipoh, Port Dickson, Melaka and Johor Bahru.

I've been looking at both P1 and Yes, seems that they have coverage for all the locations I frequently travel to, but sadly, not my current home.

Anyone here at Taman Bukit Segar have successfully gotten themselves a good + stable wireless broadband service? I couldn't go for wired connection because the place I'm renting at does not have a phone line.

Usage : surfing + Youtube + FB ( also FB - based online games ) + blog + work ( my work required me to access https ).

Thanks for the help in advance lads!

Just bought my 1st ever BB from alieamin a couple of hours ago.

Now my BB is charging.

1st question : it's ok to do the initial charge overnight [ I think around 8 - 9 hours ]?

I suppose, I can do the initial setup right.

Now, since it's charging, should I download the BB Desktop Software now? Should I go for Custom install and select the Certificate Synchronization service as well? Or should I just go for the Typical setup?

Heat - Reflect Materials?

Our beloved country is hot, very - very hot. Once you park your car at a outside parking lot for 8 hours, or maybe for example, from 8.00 a.m to 2/3 p.m, when you get into your car, once you open the door, the heat goes out to you and sometimes it's unbearable! Imagine driving off in the super - hot interior, whilst waiting for your aircond to cool off the interior, you're stuck in a massive traffic jam!

Usually we'll tint the windows with good ones, but not everyone can afford the expensive ones, like me.

So I suppose, other than tinting, laying liners of some sort to reflect the heat from the car [ especially the roof, engine bay and floor ] would be a great idea.

But I do not know what is available, and how good do they work to reflect the heat. I only know Dynaliner but I do not know how well it works for my intended application, plus I don't want it to weigh down the car too much [ car is a small city car lol ].

Any ideas, reviews is greatly appreciated!

Recommendation For A Desktop Setup

I'm really confused with all this new stuffs for either desktops or laptops.

Thinking of a desktop as my laptop never leaves the office!

It'll be used for :

- Adobe Photoshop CS4/5
- gaming [ been years since I played PC games! ]
- can play Blu - Ray + DVD discs, plus CD + DVD burner
- got slots for CF card reader
- the normal MS Office, Excel etc.
- Internet
- Windows 7

I really don't know the baseline budget, specs etc. I just one want one that boots up as fast as my pocket can manage [ gotta see what's available and what it is good for before i can see whether i can extend the budget or not ]. Sad to say, as of now, I think I can spend around RM 2.5k only. But I'm willing to extend the budget if the spec is worth it. If there's any links where I can see the current prices for stuffs etc, please post it up as well. Thanks.

HP DV4 Laptop Screen Moving Up and Down

My HP DV4 lappie started having this problem since a week ago. The whole screen will move up about 2-4mm, then it'll move the whole screen back down again. I've tried to change the refresh rate, but it is fixed at 60 hertz only. Screen resolution is at 1280 x 800 pixels. Graphic card is the Nvidia GeForce 9200m GS. I've switched the lappie off for one whole day and the problem still persists. Lappie is powered from a wall socket as it is only used by me at my office. Please help out, thanks guys.

A Complete Home AV Setup Budget - Help Please?

i'm doing a budget for a complete home av system. although it's only going to start earliest late 1st quarter of next year, i am doing my budget for it from now onwards, as I will also do a total 100% home renovation the earliest late 4th quarter of this year.

the setup will include :

- plasma tv, preferably Panasonic [ since Pioneer bowed down from the plasma race ], size between 42" - 50"
- bluray + dvd + cd player [ budget around 2k +-, willing to spend up to 3k+- if the specs are worth it ]
- astro
- av surround component [ budget around 2k+-, willing to extend it close to 3k+-, again, if it's worth it lol ]
- 5.1 speaker setup
- all the other stuffs required to connect everything together and to give the best picture quality / brightness and sound / sound effect possible within the space + budget constrain, i.e living hall of the home.

budget - wise, is RM 4 - 5k good enough for a better - than - basic beginner 5.1 setup? i have learned " the hard way lol " that floorstanders is much better than satellite speakers, so i plan to have floorstanders in the 5.1 setup. i am open to any suggestions.

for the player and the av surround component, should i try and budget the most possible, as I plan to keep both longer than the speaker setup?

cable - wise, i am so confused about it. the only thing i understand is only for HDMI cables, and that is, if the length required is only around 1 metre, cheapo ones is enough oledi [ pls correct me if i'm wrong about this eh? ].

on the topic of plasma tv placement, should the tv be placed in a bright area, i.e right across the windows or be placed in a darker area?

since the home will be 100% renovated, should i place sound barriers / absorbent materials on the walls as well [ as the home is a terrace unit ]?

thanks fellas!

note : i am doing the budget as i am saving up from now, this is due to the costs involved with the home reno. also because all transactions will be paid in cash, so really gotta budget from now on lol!

Recommendation To Buy A House [ Klang Valley ]

I'm due to shop for a house. Requirement must be a landed property lah! I would prefer a corner lot house so I can build my own proper garage lol. Any areas is all right as long as it'll take me max 1 hour to reach Central K.L by 7-9 a.m .

Which type of homes should I go for? New projects or 2nd hand homes? Budget - wise, around RM 500k or so.

I've seen a few ads, some occupied homes, prices are all right [ some of them in Kajang ], some of them were corner lot units and the price is well under my budget [ so don't need to spend more for repair work, extension, garage etc ]. But I really freak out with the jam to K.L in the morning, fer sure got to leave home latest by 6.30 a.m [ and yet still have to endure some traffic jam lol ], or leave home around 9.00 a.m which is not the right option for me.

Any ideas, recommendations is greatly appreciated!

Own Website + Hosting Questions

I am thinking of having a website of my own [ business - related ]. But to be frank, I have zero knowledge in this particular area.

Requirements are :
- own website with the current tech [ flash is it? ]
- should be able to upload pretty fast
- requires a large one for it'll be picture - heavy

Hosting - wise, usually how much does it cost? I understand it's a yearly affair, but any 1st time charges as well? The only one I've viewed is Exabytes. It seems that they allow you to edit your website as well [ pls forgive me for my question here sound so silly, but I really don't know much about all this ].

I've also heard about maintenance + uploading issues. How to avoid that?

If there are any links, threads etc that will help me, pls post it up. Thanks!

Wireless Connection Problem

I am very2 new with wireless modems + wireless Internet connection, so bear with my noobie-ness.

Just bought a Linksys Cisco wireless modem, model number WAG54G2. It took me awhile to setup the modem software to my PC [ I'm that noobie lol ] yesterday, then I tried to link it with my laptop, a HP Pavillion DV4 1137TX [ my 1st real laptop of my own too, see, I'm that noobie! ] and it worked fine first time round.

But after about a few hours later, I lost connection. Tried rebooting the lappie and reconnect, and it worked fine again. But a couple of hours later, I lost the connection again. Only by the 2nd time, I saw the notice form the laptop's screen [ the bar at the bottom right one ], saying that it's connected, but with "local connection".

Today I couldn't really connect again. Around 6.00 p.m after resetting the password a few times, the laptop managed to connect fine throughout until around 8.00 p.m then it failed again. I had to re - enter the modem password again a lot of times until I finally got a "local and Internet" connection, a stable one until around 1.30 a.m just now.

I decided to switch off the laptop, then I remembered that I need to do something, so I switched on the lappie, and again, it struggled to wirelessly connect to the modem, and my laptop only able to do a "local" connection.

My PC here, which is connected to the wireless modem thru a cable, works fine. Whenever I use the laptop at my friend's home, the wireless connection at my friend's home works flawlessly with my laptop.

What is wrong here and how do I get around this issue? I am a real noobie when it comes to these new Vista platforms + wireless connection etc, so I really appreciate detailed instructions on how to get it done and dusted, once and for all. Thanks.

[addedon]February 7, 2009, 3:04 am[/addedon]Note : I've tried to link up my handphone [ Nokia E65 ] to the wireless Net connection and it works flawlessly.

I'm a 31 year old, working experience well over 10 years. I may have to get myself a degree [ due to personal reasons ], duration between 3 - 4 years max.

Right now, for my qualifications [ no diploma whatsoever, stupid me during my younger days ], it seems that only Open University Malaysia's offering allows me to earn myself a degree. I am interested in these two : OUM Bachelor of Business Admin [ with honours ], and OUM Bachelor of Business [ with honours ].

Is the degree from OUM is recognised by the local governing bodies? Is there any other options, or degrees that I can obtain from other uni's [ that allows part time classes? ]?

Here's my post in the Bodybuilding thread, it seems that it's not popular, so...

QUOTE

Fellas,

My current weight is around 72 kgs. Height is about 167 / 169cm [ never really measured properly ].

Lifestyle : Lazy arsehole.

Eating habits : All oso I eat, enjoys "masak lemak cili api" a lot.

More details :

Wake up time around afternoon [ really have to change to early morning ].
Wash my face, brush my teeth.
Do between 30 - 40 push ups [ feet placed on chair about 40 - 45cms high ], hand placement changes from maximum width. medium width and slightly - off - shoulder width.
Do between 30-40 plain squats [ no weights ].
Take a bath and go to work.
A mug of coffee at work.
My brekkie + lunch usually around 3 - 4pm [ example today consists of rice about one and a half serving, plenty of "sambal udang" and a serving of those sourish veggies ].
Around 100ml of mineral water.
Dinner around 10 - 12 midnight.
Sleep around 1 - 2 a.m.

Body : Slight raised shoulder, slight "wings" under arm, some bloody spare tyre at tummy.

I used to cycle from Central KL to Bangsar and back [ around 18km round trip methinks ] under 50 mins on a MTb with knobbly tyres [ those normal chunky tyres for off road MTB wan ].

I would like to build up my body a bit, in the same time, I want to increase strength [ last year managed to pickup a girl who weights at 60kg lol! ] and cardio fitness too.

Whether I like it or not, I must do weights correct? Since I must "tear" those muscles if I want them to become bigger and stronger, no?

I also have to change my food intake as well. Read around and it seems that these stuffs always come top : protein, carbs, vitamins, water, creatine.

Currently, any nice gyms to visit [ hopefully not those blingin' fitness centres ]? Any fees, daily, per entry etc? Location is Central KL.

Current webbies surfed : Bodybuilding, Bodybuilding-Muscle101

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've surfed around a bit more, and it seems that Ultimate Gym [ located at Wangsa Maju, owned by Mr Terry Gallyot, Heavyweight IFBB Mr Asia 1999. Rates is acceptable at RM 90.00 [ I hope it's still RM 90.00 ] and not too far from my apt and workplace, but it seems that if you need him to be your personal trainer, it's at RM 150.00 for per session etc. Consultation rates for nutrition and supplement is at RM 150.00 per session [ approx 1 hour ]. Hhhmmm...so it seems that for a beginner with small pockets like me, the Internet is the way to go for then.

I've been thinking about my weekly regime :

Monday : Cardio work with cycling from Central KL - Bangsar - Central KL at night [ keep time under 1 hour non - stop ].
Tuesday : Gym work, focus on arms and shoulders.
Wednesday : Cardio work with skipping only.
Thursday: Gym work, focus on chest and back.
Friday : Cardio work with cycling from Central KL - Bangsar - Central KL at night [ keep time under 1 hour non - stop ].
Saturday : Gym work, focus on tummy and legs.
Sunday : Off day.

Nutrition - wise, now I think I have to change my eating habits. I've read that in order to build strong and large muscles, one needs a lot of protein, carbs, good fat, a lot of liquid, vitamins and additional supplement [ creatine ]. Looks like I will be cooking my lunch at the workplace [ chicken breasts, no skin + veggies + rice in smaller amounts compared to regular amount ] then! Breakfast - wise, maybe some Weetabix + milk and eggs + veggies mix.

One problem with my body is I got a lot of "wind" inside my body. Even after just drinking about 50ml of mineral water, I'll be expelling the "wind" from my mouth lol. I'm afraid that if I start taking stuffs like those protein shakes, my stomach might feel bloated and gassy.

What I am afraid of, is the workout steps that I'll take from the Net, it could be wrong lol. Oh well, what to do, I surely kenot afford to pay PT rates lol.

Noobie in HT : Help for Basic HT System

Hi all. Here's my previous posts in : Best HDMI AV Amplifier...

And the replies for my posts ( including mine ) Reply #1...

Also Reply #2...

Then Reply #3...

After that Reply #4...

Afterwards Reply #5...

And currently Reply #6.

Now, I'm not a person with deep pockets, and I always prefer paying stuffs by cash. I intend to replace my current ageing Sony Wega tv with Sharp Aquos LC32A53M. Now I've got the HT bug, since I'm the kind of fella who enjoys loud, deep bass sounds.

So, after some searches and recommendation from apisgogo, I'm thinking of going with Yamaha RX - V661 receiver unit, as the cash prices seem to be hovering around the RM 1.7k mark. I also intend to only start off with two speakers, and was recommended by apisgogo again to go with two floorstanding speakers ( I presume these are those tall speakers, right? ) 1st.

Now, can anyone recommend a nice pair of floorstanding speakers, than I can keep and update the sound system via adding one subwoofer 1st, then a pair of rear speakers ( or should I go for a pair of rear surround speaker set? ) and finally a centre speaker? Future plans is a PS3 ( for both gaming and BluRay media ) and a 1080p upscaling DVD player.

Budget wise is :
- LCD : RM 29xx currently
- receiver : RM 17xx currently
- two floorstanding speakers : still unsure since I myself do not know which brand and spec should I go for ( to match my HT upgrade plans after I buy this initial set of LCD< receiver and 2 speakers ).

Date of implementation : earliest is June 2008, as I need that long of a time to save cash!

[addedon]February 9, 2008, 2:22 am[/addedon]I also intend to do my own basic AV rack to keep all these stuffs and to put the LCD tv on top.

Is MDF a good stuff to use? Will it be able to handle all the weight?

I've calculated the size and weight of all the stuffs that will be placed on the home - made AV rack. Max weight ( LCD, receiver, PS3, 1080p upscaling DVD player ) is approximately 42 kg. Can I build the AV rack to put both the centre speaker and the sub inside it?

Plans include putting up PC cooling fans at the back of the AV rack, is this a good idea, or should I just scrub it. My apartment tarak aircond wan, so how?

Speaker placement is something I really do not know. As I've posted earlier, I intend to keep to 5.1 system only, as for me, I believe this is more than enough since I just want a system that when completed, will give me that "in the movie / game" feeling enough oledi, no need earth - shaking system that will bring the neighbours to knock on the door.

Can anyone show me the diagram for a good speaker placement. Home is basically an open space, whereby the living hall and makan area in one place, so no walls dividing 'em etc.

[addedon]February 9, 2008, 2:31 am[/addedon]My cap - ayam MDF - home - made - AV rack.

The top is the LCD, the three racks underneath is for receiver, DVD player and PS3, while the two sides is for both the centre speaker and subwoofer. If placing both the centre speaker and sub is wrong, do correct me for I am only less than one week in HT!

Laptop / PDA / Handphone?

Guys,

Very2 new in the world of gadgets. In the near future, I'm thinking of getting myself a laptop / PDA / phone that can access the Net whenever I am.

Why? Practising forex on my own at the moment, and sometimes, when I meet some of pals who are into forex too, we would actually go to wifi spots, and do our "virtual" trades ( not 110% ready for live trading mah.. ) over at Starbucks, sometimes we even drive up to Genting! I find it fun, as it's not as boring as trading at home via the lousy Streamyx land line.

Budget - wise, I am very much unsure, but I'm willing to go big if the item works as good as I want it to perform. Other than accessing the Net for forex trading, maybe YM too, other than that, no because I'm going to purchase a PSP too ( that is for gaming, music and video / movie - related too ), although a larger screen ( like a PDA or a laptop ) might be a lot better for watching movies on the go, while travelling.

So I suppose portability is quite important. I don't need those large LCD displays ( when it comes to laptops ). But I need about at least 2 - 3 hours of battery life when connected to the Net ( wireless lah ). I've thought about Nokia N90, as I have used the 9210 and 9210i years ago, connecting to the Net ( although the speed is horrendously SLOW! ) and it seems like the upcoming Communicator is very good in it's specs, compared to a PDA ( which usually don't have keyboards, or QWERTY buttons that too small! )!

So what do you guys think? Looks like PDA is outta the window ( trading forex needs a good, fast "mouse" and almost - proper keyboards ) for me is it? So should I concentrate to either a laptop, or just go for the upcoming Communicator instead?

Any recommendations for laptops? I want at least :
- Interl Core Duo
- 1 GB memory
- battery life ( connected to the Net ) at least 2 hours++.

Custom Sub Box @ MDF

Hi guys. I'm thinking of doing a custom carpeted MDF box + enclosed box to place my two amps. Is there anyone here who knows how to design a ported sub box for a 10 inch single sub? I want SPL, pure and simple. Here's the spec for my sub, there are 3 of 'em :

Box Volume Cubic Feet : 1.30
Litres : 36.8 (+20%) max
Port Diameter : 3" ( 7.6 cm )
Port Length : 12" ( 30.5 cm )
FB ( Hz ) : 33
F3 ( Hz ) -3 db : 32
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Box Volume Cubic Feet : 1.10
Litres : 31.2 recommended
Port Diameter : 3" ( 7.6 cm )
Port Length : 12" ( 30.5 cm )
FB ( Hz ) : 37
F3 ( Hz ) -3 db : 35
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Box Volume Cubic Feet : 0.90
Litres : 25.5 (-20% ) minimum
Port Diameter : 3" ( 7.6 cm )
Port Length : 12" ( 30.5 cm )
FB ( Hz ) : 41
F3 ( Hz ) -3 db : 39

All three are for vented box, because if I'm not wrong, vented box provides SPL.

And this one below is Thiele - Small parameters ( I dunno, I just copy 'em from the manual! ), I believe this one is for those who use a certain CAD programs.

SPL 1W/1M : 89dB
Revc ( Ohm ) : 3.7
Sd, Square Meter : 1.033
BL : 9.757
Vas, Litres : 63.028
mms, grams : 92.560
Fs : 25
Qms : 4.737
Qes : 0.586
Qts : 0.521
Xmax, mm : 18
Frequency Response : 30-3k
Magnet Weight, Oz : 40
Voice Coil, TIL : 2" ( 50 mm )
